most fic writers don’t want engagement to “get famous” or anything. it’s just that when you put your heart into something, it feels good to know people liked and enjoyed it. it also helps motivation to write more. if you ignore fic writers, there won’t be any more fics to read🤷‍♀️

you shouldn't care about getting comments from readers? you should just post into a void while everyone silently and thanklessly consumed your work? why would ao3 have the capability for people to kudos or comment on things if the people posting aren't supposed to care?

am I being too harsh or "without the author gaining any site engagment" is absolutely stupid? ao3 is an archive, not a social media or a fic site. you shouldnt care about "gaining" anything.
