I'm that guy that everyone talks about in hushed voices. The dude who knows some stuff and is manly enough to wear Tigger boxers on his head.

Setting up printers over a home network is a huuuuuuuge pain in the butt. My latest foray: I just spent all afternoon setting up an ancient laser printer that refused to connect via wi-fi. At least it now works (although not as I intended) on 3 desktops and a MacBook. Sheesh.

After over a year of unemployment, many rejections, less interviews than I was hoping for (considering the amount of time I've been searching)... I just received a call from a company that I had met with a few times and they're sending me an offer letter. 🥳

Power has been out most of the day and I've decided to do some editing at @WendysCanada on my MacBook. Here's one of the photos that I've edited.

I just got home from my second formal interview for a job. It felt more like a "culture fit" type of interview to see how I would fit into the job. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. 🤞

I love walking down the trails of Bois-des-esprits, especially when autumn hits and especially late in the afternoon. The leaves have turned from green to reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. The sunny days break through the tree canopy more easily, creating more long shadows.

It's officially been 1 year since I lost my job. A new job offer would be nice right about now. Right?

This is most likely the last warm day of 2026 in Winnipeg. It'll finally be full-time hoodie and jacket weather starting tomorrow.

I heard thunder outside, which is quite unusual here in October. Then again, it's 20°C and not 8°C (like it normally should be).

I spent last night installing LightCraft, an unpaid alternative to Adobe Lightroom's Creative Cloud subscription model, on an ancient MacBook Pro. I had to fight to get it working, but I did it.

I've officially turned on the heat in the house for the first time this season. The house has been sitting at 18°C since last weekend and I finally gave up. 🤣

I've lived in the area for over 15 years, driving past this forested bit quite often, but never curious enough to explore. I finally made my way under the roadway to the forested area on the other side and those fall colours are a-popping.

I've been in quite a funk creatively this year as I've been looking for a job. I've been trying to edit photos using Raw Therapee...ok...fighting it. I've decided that since fall has arrived, I wanted to get back into it. I'm trying a new editing program, RapidRAW. I like it.

So...I thought I was going to take it easy tonight, maybe convert an old ammo box into a box that I can use for my astrophotography gear. Instead, I'm going to head out to see if I can get some photos of the Aurora.

This trail in my suburban neighbourhood always seems a bit magical, a bit dreamy at times, especially in the autumn. Even when you're getting smacked in the face with the leaves blowing around. 🍂

It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the Ditka family has announced the passing of Mike Ditka this morning. Da Coach. Hall of Famer. The heartbeat of the ’85 Bears and a Super Bowl champion. Chicago won’t be the same. Prayers to Diana and the family. RIP, Coach. 🐻⬇️ Here’s a statement from the family: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mike Ditka. While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the heart of our family. Mike will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever. With love and gratitude, The Ditka Family

I was out shooting the stars, specifically the Pleiades Cluster, and the Aurora decided to sneak in for a brief moment tonight. My night ended a little early because my lens fogged up. Definitely getting colder at night nowadays.
