Our Final spotlight this week shines on Mrs. Eden Owen. Mrs. Owens passion and engaging classroom strategies propelled her 7th grade English students to #23 in the state on the 21-22 ACAP assessment.
The spotlight today is on Mrs. Channa Leighton. Mrs. Leightonβs creative approach in her classroom definitely made it happen this year, as her 8th grade students finished in the top 20 out of 437 Middle Schools in the state on the 21-22 ACAP assessment.

Today we spotlight Mrs. Julie Robinson, who for the second year in a row ranked in the top ten for ACAP scores in the state of Alabama! Mrs. Robinsonβs recipe of high expectations combined with her growth mindset for all students continues to produce exceptional results!
We continue to highlight our teachers and their outstanding accomplishments on the 21-22 ACAP assessment. Today we recognize Mrs. Ellen Estes. Mrs. Estesβs dedication to her students has resulted in back to back top ten rankings for 8th Grade Math scores in the state of Alabama.
This week OBMS is highlighting our teachers and their accomplishments on the 21-22 ACAP assessment. Today we recognize Mrs. Leah Tucker for her outstanding instructional classroom leadership, and guiding her students to the 7th highest ranked science scores in the state.
I asked one of our Art students to add some orange and blue to this painting for my office. She did more than add a little orange and blue. Incredible!
Reading and writing college readiness benchmark scores improved from 27% to 63%; the percent of students who met the math college readiness benchmark score improved from 25% to 63% and the percent of students who met BOTH benchmarks improved from 23% to 55%!
