Law professor Josh Blackman called the NYT out on politically labeling conservatives more often than liberals, and editor Patrick Healy acknowledged he was right:
“It can come off like The Times treats liberals as normal and conservatives as unique and worthy of labeling.”
Pangram is exposing a new strain of AI derangement that I find fascinating. The tool *obviously* works as advertised. The impulse to assail its integrity with false claims comes, I think, from a deeper fear that AI has already irrevocably changed how we express ourselves—from mundane emails to literary fiction. It feels like something has been stolen from us.
If these people can convince themselves AI isn't actually that good at detecting human writing, then surely the world they feared—with its job loss, its cybersecurity risks, its deluge of AI slop—isn't as close as people say.
I recently interviewed Pangram’s @max_spero_ about the tool’s revolving door of controversies, his jihad against AI slop, and how he feels about being the internet’s AI slop cop. Read here for free: thefp.com/p/two-drinks-max-s…
I interviewed @max_spero_ , who wants to mop up the slop with his AI-writing detector, Pangram. Meet the man behind the 99+ percent accurate AI detector the internet loves to hate. thefp.com/p/two-drinks-max-s…

NY AG hopeful Komatireddy pulls within just 6 points of Dem incumbent Tish James after debate: bombshell poll trib.al/4oedY2W

Komatireddy, who lives in Manhattan with her husband and four children, is speaking to that sense of danger and disarray, felt by New Yorkers across the political spectrum.
Everyone’s asking whether @sarithaforny’s debate victory changes the AG race. I spent a day with her in the Bronx and Queens last week, and voters told me two things:
“I like her honesty.” and: “I just hope she isn't harmed by the weakness at the top of the ticket.”
After last night’s debate, the differences between Letitia James and me could not be more clear.
I joined Fox & Friends this morning to discuss what’s at stake in this election, our sharply different approaches to public safety, and my plan to bring accountability back to the Attorney General’s Office.

New Yorkers love AG Letitia James for standing up to Trump. Republican challenger Saritha Komatireddy is betting that subway violence and locked-up store shelves will change their minds.

Gen Z being "hooked" on some "health" drink instead of going on weekend booze/coke benders really epitomizes the sad/lame vibes of this generation. Like, if you're going to do drugs at least be having fun? You guys should be going out to bars and getting drunk and making out, not staying in with your gay health drinks and SSRIs, being boring and having anxiety.

Lefty mag editors be like “I know we’ve commissioned this exact piece a million times but we’d love for you to write about why Ayn Rand sucks— and don’t forget to make it extra bitchy!”
"The Fountainhead “is so dense and complex,” marvels Brad Pitt, “it would have to be a six-hour movie.” (The 1949 film version already has a running time of two hours.) Christina Ricci claims that The Fountainhead is her favorite book because it taught her that “you're not a bad person if you don't love everyone.” Rob Lowe boasts that Atlas Shrugged is “a stupendous achievement, and I just adore it.” And any boyfriend of Eva Mendes, the actress says, “has to be an Ayn Rand fan.”" thenation.com/article/archiv…
