Protecting potential sources that approach you after such a public message is a perennial concern; equally taxing is the vetting process necessary to weed out potential double agents, which the Cuban services are almost assuredly throwing at secure US channels en masse.

We have seen no intelligence or reporting to suggest that Iran has killed 75k protestors or dissidents.
Which is not to say that the Iranian regime has not been extremely cruel to its internal enemies.
But the White House needs to produce evidence of its spiraling figures.

New: I got a tip a little while ago about a shadowy Pentagon entity called "TSO" with a lot of money and a desire for offensive hacking tools.
Turns out TSO is a new DoD agency. And it does a lot more than hacking.

Hegseth's team broke Eisenhower's world. Literally.
Read @AlexHortonTX and @DanLamothe's tale of how Hegeth's impatience to put a historic globe in his office resulted in an embarrassing failure.
The metaphors truly write themselves.

I've been photographing this hawk for at least five years now. I know his haunts and he knows mine, once following my car and kiting above me.
There is no need for words between us, only sky.

This week marks 1 year since returning from maternity leave. It's been the hardest year of my professional life. But I'm proud of everything we made it through. So just a shoutout to the moms in journalism. New moms, old moms, all moms -- you're crushing it and I'm proud of you.

ANOTHER scoop from @EricM_Katz and this one's real fun: State Department officials have asked foreign service officers up for promotion -- mind you, these are NOT political appointees -- who they voted for the last 3 presidential elections. Read 👇

The Pentagon is thinking expansively about conducting “economic warfare,” particularly against China. Now, it’s mulling a new or expanded deep-cover spying capability as part of that mission.
