𝟐𝟒 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐮𝐯 #𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐁𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐝. Copy, paste, send sounds simple until the address you paste isn’t the one you intended. Scammers exploit this habit through address poisoning, creating lookalike addresses to trick users into copying the wrong one from their transaction history. Clipboard hijacking malware takes a different approach by replacing a copied address with one controlled by an attacker. 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐇𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝, 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞: ♡ Verify the full recipient address before confirming a transaction. Don’t rely on familiar beginnings and endings. ♡ Avoid copying addresses from transaction history without checking them. ♡ Save verified recipients in your wallet’s address book when supported. ♡ Send a small test transaction before transferring a large amount to a new recipient. ♡ If a pasted address changes unexpectedly, stop the transaction and investigate your device for malware before trying again. ♡ Keep your device and security software updated to reduce exposure to clipboard hijacking malware.
