#DashBlitz is a platform-fighter that reinvents the genre with lightning-fast action and intuitive controls. Whether you're attacking or moving, you always maintain perfect control. No worries about endlag.
Also it's super cheap and you can be a car. Beep beep.
Figuring out Godot and experimenting with heftier momentum and continuous dashes, to the point that you can bounce across the stage by just holding down dash.
It'd be cool to return to Dash Blitz and file it down to its best elements, baby steps though.
Finally got around to indicating speed of moving objects in the level editor.
Whatever it takes to help you make a god damn mess of a level.

I'm digging these more vibrant colours for magnetic fields. It's funny how the little things can feel the most satisfying.

A friend of mine is going to be streaming Dash Blitz and as excited as I should be all I can think is how terrified I am of the AI misbehaving. Absolute monkey's paw moment.

Join me at 7pm (GMT+11) for Chess and a CPU Tournament!
What game will the tournament be for? Lets just say I lost a bet with a certain gamedev last night 😬.
DASH BLITZ CPU TOURNEY AT 9PM!

Haven't been very active on here lately but I'm still #gamedev'ing! Here's an absolute travesty of a level I made on stream at @level0sayswhat.
I'm really enjoying coming up with tools to help people make awful, awful levels.
Retweeting with my professional account - #gamedev stream an hour from now, come check it out!

Alright, gonna go live an hour from now. Come peep my spaghetti code and other stuff as I #gamedev / chill.
Working on Maggie Magnet (cutesy platformer), it's pretty neat.

Retweeting this on my dev account - I'm planning on getting back into streaming and thought it'd be a good way to showcase Maggie Magnet!
(please ignore the spaghetti code)

So I'm planning on getting back into streaming with some gamedev. Come check out @xjoygames behind the scenes as I work on Maggie Magnet.
Let's say 7:00pm (GMT +10) on the 4th of October, and we'll play some other games too.

Well they can't all be perfect runs, but Pickle did a great job getting all his cards back in this level! While a GRAND SLAM! might be rewarding it is perfectly O.K. to come back later to get the time goal separately.

Not a lot to report on lately - I've been busy working on my presentation. Tidying up some assets and ironing out some bugs.
Goal is to get a playable demo soon! I've been saying it for a while but it's really close now.

Finally happy enough with our antagonist Billy Block to start working on him in-engine! No visual flair at the moment but you get the idea.

Really simple touch but moving blocks now indicate where they're going to move in the level editor.
Uhh... Kinda, anyway. Maybe next time.

Playing around with the level editor - I'm beginning to get a sense of the sorts of cruelty players can inflict on my girl.

Stage export is working well! Much smoother than I expected. This impromptu title screen was made in-engine as a test drive.
...I don't think she likes it though.

Back at it again with Maggie Magnet - moving blocks are now working in the level editor!
This is pretty much everything right now. Next step is tidying up the interface and actually exporting levels!

More spontaneous #gamedev tonight - got sliding mechanics done and some rough wall-scaling.
Basically I've been itching to make a game about climbing a mountain for a while and now I've got the ideas cemented in my head, I feel like it's time to prototype.
