One of the problems: More is better until it’s not. 🙆 N=15, 20-min test after a given workload, taken every ~+16 CTL points. 🙋How much drop in durability are you willing to accept?

So as promised. Thread no. 1. on the dreaded LT1. I will try and keep these pretty brief, address some common misconceptions and give some practical points (I hope) So, LT1, or Lactate Threshold 1. Sometimes called the Aerobic Threshold (although I think that is a bad name) 1/
You don't need to train ⬇️ LT1 to ⬆️ pwr/speed at LT1 You don't need to train at/⬇️ FTP to ⬆️ FTP You don't need to train at VO2max to ⬆️ VO2max You don't need to train at FatMax to ⬆️ FatMax Aerobic capacity/fitness is a multitude of variables. There are many ways to improve it

'30,000 people are killed or seriously injured on our roads every year, less than 3 involving a cyclist' Former Olympic cycling champion Chris Boardman spoke to #BBCBreakfast about Government plans to make causing death or serious injury by dangerous or careless cycling an offence bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6…

The UK is failing so badly that there is, in fact, almost no institution of government within it that I am convinced should survive as it is now. Let's start with the constitution, and the fact that we have not got one. I am incredibly keen on that changing.

Along with fellow Active Travel Commissioners @Ed_Clancy, @DameSarahStorey & @simonobtv1, I've written to @RishiSunak about the Plan for Drivers. We believe the most effective plan for drivers will be to get right behind the Government’s own Gear Change plan. Here's why 🧵👇

our car insurance renewal is up 55% on last year, the best deal is 27% more than last year. No wonder there's inflation when this is how companies act. It's pure greed and absolute bullshit that their costs are up 30%. The reason they gave me for the increase was 'inflation' !!

Replying to @ContiUK
@ContiUK for a couple of years now I’ve sworn by your cycling tyres. The gp5000 tubeless tyre has been awesome until you updated it to the gp5000s. I’ve had 3 tyres in a row completely fail on their first ride out now. (1)

This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes break traffic laws while riding, yet 66% of people do so when driving. And if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid forbes.com/sites/carltonreid…

#DomestiqueData by @LoosDieter The Lotto Dstny riders who are currently in 🇪🇸 Spain did a 5' & 20' test. The Classics squad also did 3x 30" sprints afterwards. Here's a table of the 5' & 20' tests. In this thread we'll analyse the results. 👇

Zone 2 training is the new FTP. Everybody likes to say it, but nobody is 100% sure what it means 🫠
