I watched the whole series. It goes on too long, the finale is rushed, & I think it undersells the best part of the set-up. But there is a decent story buried under its flaws, the idea of finding your way back to the person you love & becoming worthy of them along the way.

Iā€™m watching Drop Dead Diva, & for all its flaws, thereā€™s something interesting about the set-up. Deb dies and her soul hijacks Janeā€™s body. What she becomes isnā€™t quite Deb, but isnā€™t quite Jane either. In Janeā€™s body, she works with Debā€™s fiancĆ©, but he doesnā€™t know who she is.

I wouldnā€™t recommend the show. The case of the week plots are absurd, & way more trans plots than I expected for a show that aired during Obamaā€™s first term. But, the primary story would be an awesome standalone movie or book.

A better story would be Luna & Ron. His personality is shaped by rash judgments & hoping to find his mark outside the shadow of brothers & Harry. Luna sees the extraordinary in everything, & considers multiple possibilities.

If you want to hook Harry Potter up with a blonde for a more "logical" romantic ending there's no particular need to give Draco a sex change. Luna > Malfoid.

I think Iā€™m just waiting for Jane to tell the fiancĆ© that sheā€™s actually Deb before I stop watching, just to see exactly how they make him react.

Jane/Deb doesnā€™t want to force him to fall in love with her new self, but she canā€™t help wanting to be around him & talk the way she did in her old body. Heā€™s obviously compelled by her, but is both still mourning Deb & not attracted to Janeā€™s body. I donā€™t know if they reconcile
