The fact that Twitter is reportedly removing "likes" in order to "promote healthy conversation" (with, as far as I can tell, no justification beyond "jack thinks it will work") is a darn compelling argument for that company to hire actual, trained social computing researchers.

so looks like the work "before" just evaporated from the previous tweet. It's not even hot outside. odd.
Couple years ago, discussed with someone this idea of building a "social credit" service, where you'd get good karma points for doing nice things for others. We didn't pursue. Anyhow, I don't think we considered the dystopian twist such a system can take: xitter.cf/Psythor/status/1056811…
