I hate Device Hub, the new iOS simulator in Xcode. I work on multiple apps and run several simulators. The window is larger and looks worse. Taking a screenshot with Cmd + Shift + 4 now acts like a real phone. It takes two clicks to save it to my computer.
My first job was assistant project manager at Saint-Gobain. I wrote specs for an offshore team in India. I was tired of making others do the work and feeling like I produced nothing myself. So I left to code for ten years.
Ten years later, I write specs again every day. Except this time I understand why. For a quality app that lasts, someone has to orchestrate the development. I learned this as CTO. And the team executing my specs today are my agents.
For years, I hid behind my features. I would add a button, tweak an animation, and tell myself the app was better. It is absolute comfort. But coding one more feature is just an excuse to delay facing the market.
I picked up the phone with a huge smile. I was convinced this call would change my life forever. I was completely wrong. I thought one discussion would do the work for me and be a magic shortcut. My path was built on my code, not that phone call.
When thousands of users show up on day one, push your scalability tests hard and keep quality high. Every small defect gets multiplied.
People tell me their app is finished because they coded it with AI in one month. My first question is always whether it is approved on the stores. In ten years, none of my apps has ever been rejected for its code.
AI codes to make it work, not to pass the review. Submit your app for review as early as possible. You can pre-publish and only release it manually once approved.
I was told not to post this on LinkedIn. Could hurt my image. Posted it anyway: rap is just another way to talk. The point: AI breaks things when it edits code it never read. Ship an app to the stores without a solid process and the pain starts.
Since October 5, the top of your App Store page can be a video. Apple added a header above the screenshots. It holds an image or a 5 to 30-second video in 21:9 that loops without sound. It is the first thing people see before they even scroll.
Today my agent handles my screenshots and ASO through the App Store Connect API. It freed up my time, and made me realize I was optimizing a place almost no one looks at.
Then I assigned an AI developer agent to the task. The Apple Watch build was completed in a few hours. Seeing a project I had delayed for so long finally exist was a real relief.
