I do think it's an interesting approach to the new show. From a world where people wanted/needed the avatar around (Aang's Story) to where the world just hates the avatar now and is happy to have her gone
Are we deadass?
(1) Zuko was trying his best at the end of Book 1.
(2) After Aang's death in Book 2, him and Azula were also going after Katara if it wasn't for Iroh.
(3) Additionally the combustion man was out there to kill all of the gaang.
And for your ship to become canon, it needs to have a narrative supporting it and backing it up, which it doesn't. You cannot show me a single scene with romantic subtext from an authorial point of view. It's alright if you admit your fantasies to be fanon yk
Genuinely don't get why zootara's are allergic to context
1) katara encourages him in the movie to literally find out what the denied are planning 2) he writes her a letter and apologises for having to leave 3) he only leaves to get a head start, she was always gonna be coming, he just didn’t want to wake her in the middle of the night 4) i think it’s pretty well established in their relationship that either of them may have to take off at certain points suddenly because their jobs are literally protecting the world
