over the past 2 years, the mobile team has built the Whop app natively for ios and android, making it possible to create, run and grow your business from your phone
our apps let you accept payments with Tap to Pay, issue cards, run ads, livestream and chat. you can track any metric on your home screen with widgets and our mobile SDKs bring similar functionality to other apps
if you wanna join a small but mighty team here in Palo Alto, please DM
Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify.
It really feels like we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg in a market larger than anyone can imagine.
We first launched Whop as a better way for us to sell sneaker bots, one of the most niche types of desktop software out there.
Total TAM? Probably $20,000 per day.
Who cares, tiny market.
But, what people discounted is the idea that there were actually 70,000 other markets exactly like that one.
Beyond the investment itself, I am especially excited to welcome legendary silicon valley investor @dougleone to our board of directors. Doug and the sequoia team are nothing but a brilliant, resourceful, and principled group of people.
My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful all-in-one cloud ecosystems ever created; @tobi has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner.
We have a tenet at Whop to be the dumbest in the room and I am very grateful that this has recently become a lot easier.
We are focused on markets, scale economies, and progressive media. If that is up your alley, please message me directly.
The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income.
after using it internally at whop for a while... autoglot.app is now live!

We built the infra and sdks so you can do it in a weekend!
join the most exclusive chat on the platform!
shoutout to @zebra_dev for shipping this.
this builds on tons of infra the iOS team has built over the past two years: our layered module architecture, sync engine, public chat SDK and automated verification on cloud simulators.

@fittedcloset is making clothing resale social again.
way beyond the typical "how much?" DM, followed by a lowball offer.
instead, users actively share, flirt, flex, and have real conversations.
rather than build that chat infrastructure from scratch, Fitted embed @whop's chat functionality directly inside their app

somebody has tried to directory scan my feature requests backend for my apps since march
I dont store users or data other than the feature requests and random identifiers lol
keep using swiftui.
if your app is running at 10fps, optimize your swiftui views. if you achieved 60fps but you want 120fps, switch to uikit.
if you need advanced gestures, use UIGestureRecognizerRepresentable
