More money. More power. More influence. More possessions. People spend their entire lives building earthly kingdoms, only to forget that none of it can purchase eternity. YOU CAN HAVE A FULL BANK ACCOUNT AND STILL HAVE AN EMPTY SOUL! Jesus told a parable about a wealthy man whose land produced so abundantly that he decided to tear down his barns and build bigger ones. He had plans for his wealth, his comfort, and his future. But he forgot one thing. TOMORROW WASN’T PROMISED. 📖 “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee…” — Luke 12:20 KJV His problem wasn’t that he had a successful harvest. His problem was that he had prepared for everything EXCEPT eternity. Now think about Zacchaeus. He was wealthy too. But when Jesus entered his life, his relationship with money changed. He committed to generosity and making restitution for wrongdoing. ONE RICH MAN CLUNG TO HIS TREASURE. ANOTHER ENCOUNTERED JESUS AND OPENED HIS HANDS. That’s the difference a transformed heart can make! Money isn’t the enemy. Greed is. Success isn’t the enemy. Pride is. And having possessions isn’t the problem. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN OUR POSSESSIONS BECOME MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD! 📖 “For the love of money is the root of all evil…” — 1 Timothy 6:10 KJV Fren, there’s nothing wrong with working hard, providing for your family, or enjoying God’s blessings. But don’t become so focused on building a life here that you forget the life to come. THE WAY BACK HOME — YOU’RE NOT TOO FAR GONE! 📖 “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.” — Luke 15:24 KJV Have you ever wandered so far from God that you wondered whether He would ever welcome you back? Maybe you grew up knowing Jesus. You knew the Scriptures, the hymns, and the prayers. But somewhere along the way, life happened. People hurt you. Disappointment hardened your heart. And little by little, you walked away from the very One who loved you most. SOMETIMES WE DON’T LOSE OUR WAY ALL AT ONCE. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS ONE HURT, ONE COMPROMISE, AND ONE BROKEN PROMISE AT A TIME. Think about the prodigal son. He demanded his inheritance, left his father’s house, and wasted everything. But when he finally came to himself, he made a decision. HE WAS GOING HOME! And here’s the beautiful part. His father didn’t make him crawl all the way back. 📖 “But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran…” — Luke 15:20 KJV THE FATHER RAN TOWARD THE SON WHO HAD RUN AWAY! Fren, somebody needs to hear this today. Your past doesn’t have to be your future. Your mistakes don’t have to become your identity. And the shame you’ve been carrying doesn’t have to keep you separated from the Savior. REPENTANCE ISN’T GOD HUMILIATING YOU. IT’S THE BEGINNING OF COMING HOME TO HIM! I know what it’s like to wander from the faith I was raised in. I know what it’s like to make choices that break the hearts of people who love you. But I also know the beauty of discovering that God’s grace can reach into the mess we’ve made and begin a new chapter. I’M NOT PROUD OF EVERY ROAD I TRAVELED, BUT I’LL NEVER BE ASHAMED OF THE JESUS WHO BROUGHT ME HOME! And maybe you’re already walking with Christ, but you know someone who’s wandered away. Don’t stop praying for them. Don’t stop showing them love. Remember, the prodigal son’s story didn’t end in the far country. IT ENDED WITH A FATHER REJOICING THAT HIS CHILD HAD COME HOME! ❓ QUESTION OF THE DAY: Is there something keeping you from returning to Jesus, or someone who’s wandered away that you need to keep lifting up in prayer? 🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, draw the wandering hearts back to You. Replace shame with repentance, despair with hope, and remind us that Your mercy is greater than our past.
