Last night was one of the worst nights Gaza has seen. The bombs have never stopped raining down on them, and when the actual rain fell upon them, their tents flooded. So many missing limbs, all missing loved ones, most without homes. And the world just pretended it stopped. In the runup to the election, I was part of a group of Jewish Democrats in Michigan who had to make a choice. Passions were running high, arguments ensued, but at the end of the day, we decided to support @AbdulElSayed
The response on this platform was immediate, but in too many cases, it was filled with vile, Islamophobic responses. I was called a Nazi and (ironically), a Jew-hater.
So instead of lashing out, I invite you to watch this two-minute video posted by @peterdaou After watching it if you can't at least understand that Abdul is a smart, considerate human and not a terrorist, then I can't help you. But I hope you are open-minded enough to see what we see.
I'm glad this awful election is over, but I'm just as glad to embrace a better future with Abdul in the Senate.
