Hadn't seen this angle until today, not only was Donald slanting with Turner to run a poker game to free Fiske, which worked well, turns out Donald was also accidently tripped. Allows QB to be able to throw him.
Argued for a week on this, thought there was a slight trip, but didn't see this until now.
Not quite the flex many wanted it to be.
Donald ran a stunt, his job to open lane for looper.
QM gets points for his inital punch, and he got the 'block' there. After that he grabbed a guy who was falling backwords.
QM is an All-Pro, a great player, strong. But people getting hyped over the take down is silly.
DOnald did his job, Fiske ran free (actually 3 man stunt) and QM did his job.
It's not like it was a head up, one-on-one ... it's a slant and Ol is supposed to take him where he's going.
Just saw clip on right today. Souldn't be any debate anymore on this play. Just talking this play.
Rams ram a 3-man game, poker (or palm or ISO, whatever you want to call it) to free the DE (in this case Fiske) to get pressure and it worked
AD and Kobie slant right, Fiske loops left. However, for me, new info ... Donald was not only slanting, he as tripped, making it a lot easier gfor QM to throw him to ground.
Not the flex some wanted. A win for the Rams DL on that rep.

most blitzes, most zone
To disrupt early-down passing, Brian Flores blitzes ~70% of the time using traditional five-man "Fire Zone" paths.
Instead of Cover 1 or traditional 3-under/3-deep, Minnesota usually pairs their overload pressures with Quarters or Cover 6 (QQH) rotations.
The Vikings not only blitz more than anyone else in the NFL, but they also run more zone.
It's the "Flores Paradox".
The rush forces quick checkdowns while the secondary layers the intermediate and caps the verticals.
Pressure changes the math; zone rotation limits explosives.
Today's free clinic on Brian Flores's Fire Zones is only on MatchQuarters:

Wesley Bailey -- not exactly Jared Verse-type power, but still, good power rush, good enough get off, gets his hands inside the tackle's, sinks hips and drives to QB
Yes, gambling can ruin relationships with your wife and children. But it can also be a bonding experience if you bring them into the action.

Have not see Hamilton making many splash plays in his career, yesterday had a least a couple that stood out, here is one of then, wades though trash to get QB hit

Ty Hamilton fights double team, and clogs area, Dolac slips in for the tackle.
When the front does its job, the defense works
this is pure Fangio front, a Penny Front, a 5-1, five man surface with one LBer, this us 2020-21 kind of thing

Braden Fiske, shuffle step or kind of up, jab step inside and gets his right armed cocked, right arm clubs/swipes hands of g and he closes
the initial stutter gets G off balanced, his head gets over his skis and you can see him in an awkward position
and Fiske's hustle does the rest

Ty Hamilton showing some strength ... they double team him for instant, he has a good base, but gets his left arm inside and then pushes the blocker by, a really nice shed and tackle.

AD looks like he's going to have B-gap, but look at his quick step to charge the A-Gap, leaved B-gap open for Omar to run through

depends on what upper echelon means.
opposing fans dumped this kind of thing on Kurt Warner when he'd have a bad game or even season.
Fir a guy who's played just 5 years, Purdy sure wins a lot compared to the rest of the QBs and puts up good numbers compared to the rest.
I am anti-49er but Purdy seems to be upper tier to me.
I think we saw today that Brock Purdy is still not the upper echelon QB people make him out to be. Some really awful throws in that game, bad decisions. Commanders and Seahawks showed you that the 49ers are beatable. Falcons finally slayed the dragon of 2026. Now, they have a bye and we’ll see how they respond to being made to bleed for the first time this year.
