The weekend began with 2.3 inches of fresh snowfall, but ample sunshine, low humidity, and above-freezing temperatures over the past few days have nearly returned the ground to bare rocks.

I happened to meet up with this young black bear in an old forest filled with large pines and hemlocks here in NH. Generally most bears will simply run away at top speed (around 30mph) when they become aware of a human's presence. But younger bears, well-trained by their mothers, will often climb a nearby tree instead. If you happen to see a furry little feller peeking out through the branches at you like this, there may be a larger, less-friendly female bear in the vicinity! I encourage everyone to enjoy the woods and mountains without fear - just be observant of your surroundings and everything will generally work out fine :)

If you want higher gas prices, vote for Gavin Newsom. If you want homeless naked drug addicts crapping on your sidewalks, be sure to vote for Gavin Newsom. If you want rampant illegals taking your jobs, he’s your guy. And crime? Gavin’s the one!

Day in the life of a nature photographer: always bring a friend when you’re moose scouting so they can take incredible action shots from another canoe! Thanks Nate! Can’t wait to see the full-resolution pics. Sometimes these adventures in New Hampshire feel like being in a painting. I will never take this way of life for granted.

Same spot, same shot, 50 years apart.

Cutting some 200-year old beams on a warm October day in NH. We make all of my picture frames from very old reclaimed wood.

Good old fashioned family time at the cabin with @gregcello and crew. The kind of fall days I hope our kids remember when they’re our age. 🍂🪵

Sunrise in the valley, in the forest. Chilling frost in mountains, later. These are the beautiful extremes of New Hampshire right now. Our area is a bit barren in the aftermath of what everyone calls "peak foliage" - but THIS is the beauty to be found right now, if you go... in. If you venture INTO the woods. If you climb UP into the boreal forests. Many of the leaves are now on the ground. And it smells so, so good. This, right now, is my favorite time of the year. I took both of these photos in the White Mountains region, near Mt. Washington.

Another MAHA win! @FDA has cleared the first new sunscreen ingredient in decades: bemotrizinol, used safely in Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia for more than 20 years.
Now Americans have access to another option for protecting their skin. We are expanding choice and bringing proven innovations to the American people.

TRUMP USES CNN'S OWN POLL TO MAKE HIS POINT—THEN THANKS THEM! 😂
At his rally, President Trump highlights CNN polling showing 98% approval among MAGA Republicans and 53% of Republicans naming him their most admired GOP president, ahead of Ronald Reagan.
“Thank you CNN. Thanks very thank you very much.”
