If your kids leave the house dressed like this, and acting like this, you’ve failed as a parent. I doubt you care, but don’t come moaning about ‘foreigners’ and ‘stopping the boats’ when your offspring are fucking scum.

Lucy Davis. Dawn Tinsley from The Office. The receptionist who stole every scene with a look, a sigh, and a perfectly timed glance at the camera while David Brent did his thing. Fifty-three years old. Daughter of Birmingham's own Jasper Carrott — the man who taught an entire generation that a Brummie accent and a deadpan delivery could make you a national treasure. And now she's told the world that she has stage four breast cancer. Incurable. Metastasised to her bones — spine, right hip, ribs. Too late for chemotherapy. She's known for a year and a half. A year and a half of carrying that knowledge while the rest of us scrolled past her on TV, remembering Dawn and Tim and the finest will-they-won't-they in British comedy history, completely unaware that the woman who played her was quietly navigating the long goodbye. She posted the news herself. No press release. No PR-managed exclusive. Just Lucy Davis, telling it straight: "As of now, I'm trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can." That's not a cry for sympathy. That's a 53-year-old woman with cancer in her bones looking at the abyss and deciding she'd rather laugh at it than weep. "I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there's a lot I have learned from it, and I'm grateful for that." Grateful. For lessons learned from terminal cancer. The kind of perspective that makes your moaning about the train delays and the price of petrol look exactly as small as it is. She asked her friends and family to tease her. "As much as possible." Do not treat me like a sick person, she said. "There's nothing that will make you feel more unwell than being treated as if you're unwell." That's the Jasper Carrott DNA right there — the ability to find the punchline in the punch to the gut, the instinct to deflect genuine tragedy with a joke and a shrug and a "go on, take the piss." She rang a bell and recited the poem people use to mark the end of cancer treatment — a poem usually reserved for those who've beaten it. She hasn't beaten it. She won't beat it. But she rang the bell anyway because she's decided that the narrative is hers to write, not the cancer's. "I'm not scared of whatever comes next. I'm at peace with it. I'll see my Gracie sooner than expected, and for me, leaving my physical body just means going home." Gracie. Her dog. Gone before her, and now she's talking about reuniting with her dog on the other side like it's a holiday she's looking forward to. If that doesn't make you simultaneously want to cry and applaud, you're not paying attention. She said grief is for her family — "it's far harder for them than for me" — because even now, even at the end, she's thinking about the people she's leaving behind rather than herself. She wants to keep acting. Said it's one of the biggest joys of her life. Wants to keep campaigning for animal rights. Fifty-three. Birmingham born and bred. Jasper Carrott's daughter. Incurable cancer. Spine, hip, ribs. Too late for chemo. A bell rung. A poem recited. A dog waiting. And a woman who played the most relatable character in British sitcom history now showing us what real strength looks like. Not the shouty, flag-waving kind. The quiet kind. The kind that says: I know what's coming, and I'm still here, and I'm still laughing, and if you treat me like a sick person I'll probably roll my eyes at you the same way Dawn Tinsley rolled hers at David Brent. Cheers, Lucy. The bell was for us too. #LucyDavis #TheOffice #DawnTinsley #JasperCarrott #Birmingham #StageFourBreastCancer #Incurable #Metastasised #SpineHipRibs #TooLateForChemo #RangTheBellAnyway #TeaseMeDontPityMe #GracieTheDog #ShaunOfTheDead #TheArchers #KeepActing #AnimalRights #FiftyThree #LivingNotDying #HumourAsMedicine #NotTheEveningNews #TruthMatters #DawnAndTim #BritComRoyalty

FIFA's own rules dictate that if a government tries to intervene in a disciplinary matter - that team is disqualified. Not happening to the USA though, despite trump making that phone call. Wonder why. 🤔 Fuck Trump. Fuck Infantino.

Germany beaten on penalties. There's a headline that hasn't been written for 50 years. Canale. Panenka. The only two men to scored a winning penalty against the Germans in a shootout #GERPAR

“Take a break”? From what, exactly? Attending Parliament to represent constituents or vote which he famously doesn’t do. Holding constituency surgeries - also something he doesn’t do. Billionaire‑funded dog‑whistling mini‑breaks to places like the Chagos Islands. Multiple pilgrimages to the USA to crawl up Trump’s fat arse (currently on sabbatical). Top‑billing at endless Reform conferences - the grift that never sleeps. Counting the £5m+ in ‘gifts’ from friends - a full‑time job in itself. Appearing on GB News to interview himself in a mirror. Not appearing on mainstream media when the questions might be real (hello, Laura Kuenssberg). Carefully staged by‑election photo‑ops with a friendly crowd. Losing by‑elections with relentless consistency. Standing in random fields trying to look statesmanlike while resembling a man who’s lost his dog. Take a break? Take a break my arse. #Farage #ReformUK
Reform UK’s former chairman has suggested Nigel Farage should take “a break” from politics, after a bruising week for his party leader over a £5 million gift from a crypto billionaire. Read more: independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

'His party aren't to be trusted' I finally agree with something the Fuhrer says. Mind you, it's his old and new parties that can't be trusted
🚨@Nigel_Farage and @reformparty_uk have demanded Elon Musk have this video taken down and everyone who posts it banned!

And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media. A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children. Lets make this viral again 👇

I hope every one of the morons in this clip are locked up 🤞
Footage of a Muslim officer being abused at a protest was widely shared this weekend.   It happened a few weeks ago and we won’t be resharing the video, but yesterday we saw more of the same.   Nobody should have to put up with abuse at work and that includes police officers.
Arrests were made in all these incidents and we'll be pushing for charges in every case.

For better or worse, I watched Eurovision. A joyless experience mainly - it pains me to say that. All the innocence and joie de vivre sucked out of it because of the looming threat of genocidal Israel fiddling the voting books and winning. Everything Israel touches dies.
