I am going to challenge myself on this platform to remember what I learned in graduate school:
Do not respond to a critic until you can summarize their argument in a way that they themselves can heartily affirm.
This is a high ideal, and it's not always appropriate. But I feel better when I do this. It gets me out of fight/flight mode on this platform.
Japan has blessed us with folks like this.
Everyone is furious at the prankster.
They are missing the real tragedy.
Man A wakes up at 5 AM, works 10 stores,
and misses his 4 kids' bedtime—
yet still can’t afford his mortgage.
Boy B produces nothing, mocks working men
with a phone, and makes thousands in clout.
The problem isn't a pizza company.
It’s a broken system that punishes the Builder
and rewards the Parasite.
When a father’s sweat buys less than
a clown’s disrespect, a nation loses its soul.
Restore the dignity of honest work.
Let’s all take a second to remember this is the guy who just gave us a physical demo of a literal flying car.
When he says stuff like this, I listen.
I have lots of questions and doubts.
Most notably what will happen to people caught in the middle of being laid off vs. whenever this abundance is available for them to not worry about their financial obligations anymore.
I don’t see the way to that. But I’d also never seen a rocket land itself or a car fly over a bunch of other cars, either.

Someone asked me yesterday, “Why don’t Japanese people hate America for what happened in the past?”
I replied, “Because we’d rather look toward the future than spend our lives holding on to old grudges.”
They responded with genuine contempt: “So you just forget the people who wronged you?”
The person who said this was a Muslim.
Well… suddenly, I understood the question a little better.

I remember Rowling talking about how the initial idea in her head about Harry was the scene of Hagrid carrying a lifeless Harry through the forest, and the vision worked its way through her stories.
These kind of vignettes are what builds great new stories. What a touching arc.

I'd like the inverse of a GTA game where you're the police and you can finally take care of problems in your city, Dirty Harry style.
I was inspired by @MadamSavvy this weekend so I bought a $20 sub to Claude Pro and started ROM hacking.
In less than 20 minutes, I had a functional pause button properly routed to the Start button on Batman: The Video Game for the NES, complete with a new pause menu that allows you to spend the (worthless) points you collect in the game for health, ammo, or a 1UP.
I'm continuing to experiment and improve it. This is a lot of fun for $20.
