During their occupation, Maoists systematically destroyed roads, blocked schools, and prevented the buildout of primary healthcare centers. People like Dipke and many now seeking accountability for children's deaths are the ones who provided ideological cover to these insurgencies while generations of tribal communities were intentionally kept in enforced backwardness. Now, merely months after the district was freed from insurgent control, these same leeches arrive demanding immediate accountability. Expecting a complete overhaul of public health overnight is impossible, and only those with malicious intent do politics over it. Children were dying here every year, but the urban Naxals didn't seek accountability because it would have exposed the impact of Naxal occupation in the region. Apart from a lack of medical facilities, tribals lack awareness and motivation to seek modern treatment. Decades of isolation forced them to rely on traditional remedies and whatever religion-based treatment missionaries taught them, creating deep-rooted habits that take time to change. Development has finally begun, with new roads and upgraded facilities reaching previously off-limits areas. However, rebuilding a basic social safety net takes time. Demanding instant results while ignoring how years of insurgent control prevented these services from existing reveals a blatant double standard.
