🇰🇪 HAPPY MASHUJAA DAY FROM AFOSC KENYA! 🇰🇪
On this special Mashujaa Day, we at @AFOSCKENYA honour and celebrate the heroes and heroines who fought for our freedom, justice, equality, and dignity.
As we remember their courage and sacrifices, let us continue their legacy by protecting children’s rights, promoting gender equality, ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and building a safer, more inclusive society for everyone.
May we all be Mashujaa in our own communities through acts of courage, kindness, service, and advocacy for those whose voices are often unheard.
Happy Mashujaa Day to all Kenyans! 🇰🇪
Together, let us build a Kenya where every child is protected, every girl is empowered, and every person lives with dignity.

The Working Better Together: Shifting Power, Transforming Systems Forum brought EiE stakeholders together to map power dynamics, identify pathways for change, and envision more inclusive, locally led education systems through collaboration, shared learning, and collective action.

The "Working Better Together: Shifting Power, Transforming Systems" Forum was brought to life through engaging breakout sessions, where participants exchanged perspectives, mapped power dynamics and envisioned what an ideal Education in Emergencies (EiE) sector could look like in the future.
Through collaborative exercises, delegations identified key actors, relationships and sources of influence shaping their respective contexts, before exploring practical levers for change. Discussions focused on who needs to be engaged, supported, challenged or nurtured to shift existing power dynamics and build more inclusive, locally led education systems.
From envisioning the future to identifying actionable pathways, the sessions reinforced the importance of collective reflection, shared learning and collaboration in transforming EiE.

Women’s economic empowerment is fundamental to equality, dignity and freedom from exploitation. The challenges facing women fish traders around Lake Victoria demonstrate how unequal access to capital, productive assets and markets can deepen vulnerability.
In line with Article 27 of the Constitution and our mandate under Section 8 of the NGEC Act, the Commission remains committed to promoting equality, monitoring barriers to women’s economic participation and advocating for inclusive policies and affirmative measures that expand access to opportunities and productive resources.
No woman should be forced into unequal or exploitative conditions to earn a livelihood. We must strengthen women’s access to capital, assets, markets, technology and decision-making across the fisheries value chain. #EqualityForAll #WomenEconomicEmpowerme @KEWOPA @unwomenkenya @covaw @wopcaa
