Later this morning I will be saying some words at a memorial lecture in Abuja, in honor of Chief Audu Ogbeh, former Minister from both the Shagari and Buhari second coming who also served as chairman of the PDP. . I hope to explore the food security spectrum, given his role as Agriculture minister and a farmer in private life, and as tribute to the great gentleman Ogbeh was, ponder the new uncivil way of treating people in different political parties as enemies. . The rise of violence, like the attack on the Obi convoy in Calabar yesterday, and use of the courts to keep disrupting NDC candidates focus in places like Enugu, point to this drift towards fascism. This will also be addressed because Audu Ogbeh’s life was an opposition to such ways.

His name is Peter, which means Okwute (Rock) in Igbo. Like a rock, he remains unshaken by storms. Men who dedicate their lives to the welfare of their people do not grow weary. They endure, they stand firm, and they keep going.
