AMAC Supports Restoring the Financial Health of Social Security @RepJasonSmith Congress must act to strengthen Social Security and protect the benefits Americans have earned, but reform focus on restoring financial stability. October 1, 2026 The Honorable Jason Smith Chairman House Ways & Means Committee Missouri’s 8th Congressional District 1011 Longworth House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Dear Chairman Smith, On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, I write to express our concerns regarding H.R. 3517, the Social Security Enhancement and Protection Act of 2025. Social Security faces a serious and increasingly urgent financial challenge. The 2026 Social Security Trustees Report projects that the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund will be depleted in 2032, at which point continuing revenues would be sufficient to pay only 78 percent of scheduled benefits. Congress must act to strengthen Social Security and protect the benefits Americans have earned, but reform should first and foremost focus on restoring the program's long-term financial stability. H.R. 3517 includes provisions worth considering, including enhanced protections for lifetime low earners. AMAC has similarly recognized the importance of strengthening benefits for lower income retirees in our Social Security Guarantee. We also believe proposals designed to prevent Social Security benefit increases from unintentionally reducing eligibility for other assistance programs merit further examination. However, we have significant concerns with the bill’s broader approach. H.R. 3517 would phase out Social Security’s taxable maximum by 2035 while also increasing the payroll tax rate for both employees and employers from 6.2 percent to 6.5 percent. The 2026 taxable maximum is already $184,500. Eliminating it would substantially increase payroll taxes on affected workers and employers, while raising the tax rate would increase the burden more broadly on workers and middle-class Americans the most. AMAC believes Congress should pursue reforms that strengthen Social Security without unnecessarily increasing payroll tax rates. AMAC’s proposal is to gradually increase the annual taxable maximum by increasing the current index, an alternative that would over time bring the payroll tax revenue back in line with the benchmark from the 1983 Amendments and avoid the disruptions that complete elimination of the taxable maximum would generate. AMAC’s Social Security Guarantee also provides a range of options intended to improve the program’s long-term financial health without increasing the payroll tax rate. Furthermore, H.R. 3517 would expand student benefits through age 26 for qualifying full-time postsecondary students. It would be ill-advised to expand Social Security into this area as it risks adding new obligations at precisely the time Congress must confront the program’s existing financial challenges. Social Security is a promise to generations of Americans who have spent their working lives paying into the program. With its finances approaching a critical point, Congress has an obligation to pursue responsible, durable reforms that protect current beneficiaries while ensuring Social Security remains available for future generations. We appreciate efforts made to address Social Security’s challenges and respectfully urge the Ways and Means Committee to not consider the provisions of H.R. 3517 that would expand the program while imposing additional payroll taxes on American workers and employers. AMAC Action stands ready to work toward reforms that protect vulnerable beneficiaries and restore Social Security to long-term solvency. Sincerely, Rebecca Weber CEO Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) Chairwoman, AMAC Action amac.us/advocacy/amac-suppor…

Out of prison. Still on parole. Already eligible to vote? That’s the standard Virginia’s Question 3 would put in its constitution: automatic restoration of voting rights upon release from incarceration—even before probation or parole is finished. Walking through the prison gate is not proof of rehabilitation. A federal study tracking state prisoners released in 2012 across 34 states found that 71% were arrested again within five years. That measures arrests, not convictions—but it makes clear why successful reentry should be demonstrated over time. Second chances should come with accountability. Finish the sentence—including supervision. Demonstrate that you can live responsibly, obey the law and avoid repeat offenses. Then restore voting rights. Why make restoration automatic before someone has even completed the consequences of their crime? Because the left wants to pack the voter rolls. dailysignal.com/2026/10/16/v…

AMAC Support the Sanctity of Life in Michigan amac.us/advocacy/amac-suppor… September 29, 2026 The Honorable Josh Schriver Michigan House of Representatives House District 66 S-1085 House Office Building P.O. Box 30014 Lansing, MI 48909 Dear Representative Schriver, On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), which has more than 2 million members nationwide, including over 73,000 in Michigan, we write in strong support of the Justice for Babies in the Womb Act (H.B. 4671). AMAC believes the right to life is not only granted by God but recognized in our Declaration of Independence as an unalienable right. We fight to protect the most vulnerable and defend the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Supporting and preserving precious human life is essential, vital, and a moral imperative. Consistent with these principles, AMAC also believes taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund the practice of abortion. H.B. 4671 reflects these principles by seeking to extend Michigan’s existing protections under its assault and homicide laws to unborn children. The legislation defines an unborn child as a living human being before birth, beginning at fertilization, and provides legal protections for human life from its earliest stage. Additionally, the bill also includes necessary safeguards for families involving pregnancy loss and medical emergencies. It provides protections related to spontaneous miscarriage and procedures intended to save the life or preserve the health of an unborn child. It also addresses life-saving procedures for a pregnant woman when reasonable steps are taken to preserve the life of her unborn child. AMAC Action believes every human life has inherent dignity and value, and that our laws should reflect the principle that the most vulnerable among us deserve protection. Thank you for introducing this important piece of legislation that honors the sanctity of life. Sincerely, Jennifer Bengtson Vice President AMAC Action @JoshuaSchriver

AMAC Supports Voter ID Bill in Ohio amac.us/advocacy/amac-suppor… September 18th, 2026 The Honorable Ron Ferguson Ohio House of Representatives 77 South High Street 13th Floor Columbus, OH 43215 Dear Representative Ferguson, On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, we write to express our support for House Bill 577, which would require voters casting absentee ballots by mail to provide a copy of an acceptable photo identification with their returned ballot. We believe establishing a clear identification process for absentee voting can provide voters and election officials with a consistent procedure for verifying ballots. Your legislation protects election integrity while also recognizing that some seniors and individuals with disabilities may face challenges obtaining identification. To address this concern, the bill would establish a homebound identification program through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles for individuals who are unable to travel to a deputy registrar because of confinement, a medical condition, or a disability. In addition, your legislation would also provide avenues for voters to obtain free copies of their photo identification. These provisions are particularly important to older Ohioans. Seniors who are homebound, have limited mobility, or rely on family members, caregivers, or other assistance should have a practical way to meet voting requirements without being required to make an unnecessary trip to a government office. Protecting Ohio’s elections while empowering homebound seniors are policies that AMAC Action is proud to support. The bill also includes privacy protections important to our members. Under HB 577, copies of voters’ photo identification would not be treated as public records, and the Secretary of State and county boards of elections would be required to establish procedures for securely storing and disposing of documents containing confidential voter information. Thank you for standing up for election integrity and Ohio seniors. Sincerely, Jennifer Bengtson Vice President AMAC Action @ronfergusonohio

September 28, 2026 Chairman John Bell, IV North Carolina’s House of Representatives 10th District 16 West Jones Street, Rm. 2301 Raleigh, NC 27601-1096 Dear Chairman Bell, On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, including more than 62,500 in North Carolina, I write in strong opposition to H.B. 1246, the Safeguarding Elections Act, currently before the House Committee on Rules, Calendar, and Operations. Free and fair elections are critical to a sovereign nation. AMAC Action believes it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat. Election laws must protect every eligible citizen’s right to vote while ensuring transparency, accountability, and meaningful safeguards against fraud and error. The Safeguarding Elections Act would undermine election integrity efforts in North Carolina, doing the opposite of what its name suggests. For example, the bill would move the cutoff for certain voter-eligibility challenges from 25 to 90 days before an election, potentially preventing concerns discovered closer to Election Day from being addressed through this process. The bill would also create a risk-limiting audit process following general elections yet expressly states that the audit cannot change election results and requires no further action if significant discrepancies are uncovered. Additionally, the bill would impose heightened evidence standards and substantial penalties related to election certification, discouraging legitimate concerns from being pursued before results are certified. These are only a few of the bill’s troubling provisions that would undermine confidence in North Carolina’s elections. Protecting voters from genuine intimidation and interference is important, but those protections should not come at the expense of lawful scrutiny, transparency, or appropriate mechanisms for investigating potential fraud, errors, and irregularities. North Carolinians deserve elections that are accessible, secure, transparent, and worthy of public confidence. AMAC Action respectfully urges the General Assembly to oppose H.B. 1246 and instead pursue common-sense reforms that strengthen election integrity and accountability. Sincerely, Jennifer Bengtson Vice President AMAC Actio amac.us/advocacy/amac-oppose… @JohnBellNC

AMAC in Support of Election Integrity in Pennsylvania September 28, 2026 The Honorable Ryan Warner Pennsylvania House of Representatives House District 52 B12 Main Capitol Building P.O. Box 202052Harrisburg, PA 17120-2052 Dear Representative Warner, On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC),with over 2 million members nationwide, including more than 91,031 in Pennsylvania, I write in strongsupport of H.B. 1061, Proof of Citizenship to Vote. This legislation reinforces the fundamental requirement that only citizens may participate in our democratic processes. The right to vote is one of the most essential privileges of American citizenship, and protecting the integritof that right is vital to preserving our representative government. At a time when public trust in our institutions has been deeply strained, Pennsylvania has an opportunity to lead by example. By advancing H.B. 1061, the Commonwealth can take a profound step toward rebuilding that trust and giving voters greater confidence that its elections are secure, transparent, and faithful to the founding principles of our country. Americans routinely provide identification to board a commercial flight, open financial accounts, and conduct other important and basic activities. Requiring reasonable documentation to verify U.S. citizenship when registering to vote is a commonsense piece of legislation that all states should follow. AMAC Action also appreciates the bill's expansion of verifiable identification options for eligible citizens who may not have access to a passport or birth certificate. Pennsylvanians deserve confidence that every lawful vote is protected and that the rules governing their elections are faithfully enforced. H.B. 1061 would put Pennsylvania on the correct path to strengthening that trust while safeguarding a right generations of Americans have fought to preserve. AMAC Action thanks you for introducing H.B. 1061 and looks forward to helping it advance out of theHouse State Government Committee. AMAC Supports Safeguards for Senior in the AI Environment amac.us/advocacy/amac-suppor… @SenMarkKelly @JimJustice_WV August 24, 2026 The Honorable Mark Kelly Senator of Arizona 516 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510 The Honorable Jim Justice Senator of West Virginia 509 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510 Dear Senators Kelly and Justice, On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, I write to express our strong support for S. 5117, the Senior Chatbot Protection Act of 2026. Artificial intelligence offers tremendous potential to help older Americans remain informed, connected, and independent. However, as AI chatbots and voice assistants become increasingly sophisticated and integrated into everyday life, seniors deserve basic safeguards that allow them to use these technologies with confidence. The Senior Chatbot Protection Act is a commonsense approach to reform this new technological landscape. It requires clear disclosure when individuals interact with AI, safeguards sensitive conversations, and addresses deceptive or manipulative design practices. This is exceptionally important regarding high-stakes decisions involving healthcare, finances, and legal matters, where older Americans should understand the limitations of AI and not be misled into believing they are interacting with a licensed professional. These legal safeguards will balance encouraging technological innovation and ensuring that companies developing these powerful tools remain transparent and accountable to the people who use them. Older Americans should be empowered to benefit from AI without sacrificing their privacy, autonomy, or security. AMAC Action appreciates your bipartisan leadership on this important issue and is pleased to support S. 5117. We urge Congress to advance the Senior Chatbot Protection Act and establish meaningful safeguards for older Americans as artificial intelligence continues to evolve. Sincerely, Rebecca Weber CEO, Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) Chairwoman, AMAC Action

AMAC Supports Protecting Senior American's Nest Egg Home Investments @RepNicole amac.us/advocacy/amac-suppor… The Honorable Nicole Malliotakis 11th Congressional District of New York 1124 Longworth House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Dear Representative Malliotakis: On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, we write to express our strong support for HR 9064, the Nest Egg Protection Act. We commend you for recognizing a problem that directly affects millions of older Americans who have spent decades working, saving, paying taxes, and building equity in their homes. For many seniors, a longtime family home represents a lifetime of investment and one of their most significant financial assets. Yet the federal capital-gains exclusion for the sale of a principal residence has not kept pace with the dramatic increase in home values since the current limits were established in 1997. The Nest Egg Protection Act would provide meaningful relief by increasing the exclusion to $1 million for qualifying seniors who are at least 65 years old and have owned their primary residence for at least 25 years. Seniors should not be forced to make housing and retirement decisions based on an unnecessarily large federal tax liability. Whether a senior wants to downsize, move closer to children and grandchildren, relocate to a more affordable community, or simply access the equity accumulated over a lifetime, they should have the freedom to make that decision without excessive government interference. Your legislation reflects fundamental conservative principles: protecting private property, respecting individual responsibility, and allowing Americans to keep more of what they have earned. The bill could also have broader benefits for the housing market. When longtime senior homeowners are able to move without facing an excessive tax burden, their homes can become available to younger families and other buyers. Encouraging appropriate housing mobility can therefore help seniors while increasing opportunities for the next generation of homeowners. Thank you for your leadership and your commitment to protecting seniors, private property rights, and the financial independence of hardworking Americans. Sincerely, Rebecca Weber CEO, Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) Chairwoman, AMAC Action

Americans sacrificed too much during the COVID-19 pandemic to be left without answers. Dr. Anthony Fauci previously stated he would cooperate with Congress, yet invoked the Fifth Amendment repeatedly during recent Senate testimony. Many believe the American people deserve greater transparency and accountability. Tell your U.S. Senators to support holding Dr. Fauci in contempt of Congress if they determine he unlawfully refused to answer questions during congressional oversight. Take action today. #Accountability #Congress #COVID19
