So, so relieved to learn this. I was included in 1C vaccine distribution already for being fat (✨excited it finally got me some sort of advantage✨) but I was super worried about my coworkers. This isn’t the only thing we need, but it’s a big deal.

We need your help. Our workers have been underpaid for years, and we’re well beyond a breaking point.

Haven’t delved into the details of this yet but my initial concern is that I’m hearing a whole lot about funding for buildings but not anything about extra staffing positions to run those buildings. Middletown is still running with abbreviated hours because of lack of staffing.

It is just so strange to have covid and watch all these regulations go away because the pandemic is over
The view from inside my car at 3pm when I went out to eat lunch (I’m expected to stay until 7pm tonight).
2:11pm, OMB has shut down courier service, KY state offices are closing, the weather service has issued a winter storm warning, and the library is still taking computer and curbside appointments on apparently regular hours.

Kentucky and the CDC have adjusted their language to explicitly include library workers, but Louisville Metro hasn’t. Please continue to put pressure on them!

Absolutely disgusting. This is exactly the reason why we don’t want cops in our union.

History is unfolding right now in Alabama.
A Black women-led group of Amazon warehouse workers is on the verge of organizing the company's first U.S. union.
If they win, it could reshape the lives of hundreds of thousands of Amazon workers. xitter.gq/MorePerfectUS/status/1…

Libraries are open for public computer access, but the city doesn’t think library workers are essential enough for vaccines or good faith contract negotiations. The President of AFSCME Local 3425 has written this helpful article about the situation.
