Reaching out to my network as I look forward to my next chapter. Any support is appreciated 🫡
Notes on Nets 2025 Draft class:
• Nolan Traore dropped 15 points in his 1st start of the season. Exited the game early
• Egor Dëmin left early & didn’t return
• Danny Wolf: DNP-CD
• Ben Saraf & Drake Powell were on G-League assignment
Cruel night for Brooklyn. Late in the 4th, virtually no chance at winning until Mikel Brown Jr. stepped in — 16 points in the 4th/OT and knocked down a ton of clutch buckets.
Minutes restriction. Sat out Sunday.
Made an error in the final seconds and Jayson Tatum made him pay.

NEW NETS POD 🎙️
Anthony Puccio and I break down the #Nets' 0-3 start, Jordi Fernández's rotations, the early returns on the rookies, and whether there's already cause for concern.

Jordi Fernandez confirmed that Mikel Brown Jr. is not dealing with a new back injury. The rookie is "doing great," and his designation for tonight's game is strictly preventative.
For those asking about Mikel’s back injury management designation, this minutes restriction was always about more than his ankle.
It’s about managing his initial workload after he missed the second half of last season and most of the preseason.
Jordi Fernandez quote to me ahead of the opener ⬇️
“The reality is when you get drafted, it's a very tough summer. You do all these workouts right into Summer League. You almost don't have a break, and then you go into training camp. And that's why we always say the most important summer is that next summer, because you can work the whole way through and focus on your body… And then I think you're more equipped, plus you have the experience under your belt. But that first summer, you just throw them into the fire. So we just want to be careful. And one of the reasons why Mikel is in that minutes restriction is because we have to be careful with him and not get too excited. And I think that's the right thing to do for him and for the team.”
The theme is patience. Nets will sit Mikel Brown Jr. in the 2nd night of a back-to-back. He finished with 8 points in 20 minutes last night.

On today’s injury report, the Nets list Mikel Brown out with “Back, Injury Management.”
He missed time during training camp due to a rolled ankle. Believe this is the first we’ve heard anything related to his back.
"I think he's a special player. I think he's going to be very special for this team, for the organization, for Brooklyn in general... he's fully embracing the name not just on his back, but on the front of his jersey."
Egor Dëmin on Mikel Brown Jr.
Day’Ron Sharpe fouls out with 6:54 left in the game. Brooklyn will (likely) be playing undersized at the 5 the rest of the night.
Positional size is supposed to give the Nets versatility, but that versatility doesn’t mean much if they can’t keep opponents off the glass or protect the basket.
