Good wishes to the new Secretary
Prof. Umesh V. Waghmare @waghmare16, President of @jncasr, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Science & Technology @IndiaDST by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
A distinguished theoretical physicist, Prof. Waghmare graduated with the Institute Silver Medal and B.Tech in Engineering Physics from IIT Bombay (1990). He earned his Ph.D. from Yale University (1996) and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard University (1996–2000). He joined @jncasr in 2000 and has been a Professor in its Theoretical Sciences Unit.
