Save that a bad teacher can ruin in a semester what a parent can spend a lifetime to build. My brother and I were raised avid readers - school made him hate it. didn't read for pleasure again for a decade. My son is 3 and adores books more than toys. I worry that can be undone.

You say this like it’s anyone’s responsibility besides parents to instill a love of reading into a child. If you want your son to love reading, teach him to do so. Idk why you would expect “society” to do this for you.

Self-publishing is pretty much the only option.
About 70% of publishing professionals are women. Because agents and editors tend to select books they personally relate to, an increasing number of male authors are being sidelined in the publishing industry, resulting in an overwhelming number of female protagonists on our shelves—and a dearth of male ones. No wonder young men are no longer reading.

Anakin's love for his son redeems him in the end. Even when he wrote himself off as beyond saving.
A culture that stops giving the next generation King Arthur stories will unwittingly drive their children toward Anakin stories. Demonizing the desire for order does not diminish the innate human desire for order. Gen Z will root for Anakin over the chaos of spineless ineptitude and moral hypocrisy. We must give them Arthur.

Rather than hyperventilating over the phantoms living in your phone, you should buy all of these books and review them. They’re really good.

“No one watched them” LWW made 750 million Prince Caspian made 420 million Dawn Treader (which was not at all a faithful adaptation, btw) made 415 million. They weren’t the highest grossing films ever made, but the audience was absolutely there for it
You people forget they made three Narnia movies that were pretty good adaptations. No one watched them. They cancelled the rest. This movie looks cool. It looks fun. People will go see it. So far the criticism I've seen just make you all sound insane and precious in the most annoying ways: - The jungle should be a forest - The magician is too hot - The boy is too fat - The girl is too cute - Aslan is too cosmic I'm open to giving this thing a chance. It has to have a vibe if people are going to care care about The Magician's Nephew, a story no one knows anything about. It's fine to be critical and I wouldn't be shocked if this series abandons Christianity for some pagan occult slop. But It's also okay to make the story visually appealing enough to attract an audience who will then go and read the books. Stop being weird!

One of the only existing groves of American Chestnut trees is scheduled to be destroyed next month to make room for a datacenter. I made an entire video about what this tree meant and the efforts to bring it back that have lasted decades. Consumption knows nothing of sacrament.
