You ever have so much going on in your head that even silence feels loud?
Thoughts you can't explain.
Tomorrow, I put some of those thoughts where they belong.
COLLAGE OF THOUGHTS ft @_saladeen

Presave 👉🏼👉🏼 go.songdis.com/mgbidi-jerich…
Spent the last few weeks planning this release with this amazing artist, first real experience as a music executive and to be honest, this is the type of pressure I'd rather be facing😂
First of many , treat this song as my own when it drops. @ForeverRuannii "Mgbidi Jericho" out on 20th

Mike Benz Links CIA, U.S. State Department, UK Soft Power Funding To African Musicians And Record Labels
In this video, taken from a March 22, 2026 livestream, former US State Department official Mike Benz spotlights Nigeria's Chocolate City Music Group as one of the beneficiaries under the US State Department's little-known 'American Music Mentorship Programme' - a semi-clandestine US soft power/influence operation that co-opts music artists and record labels around the world into service to American political objectives.
Later this week, The Spearhead's @Big_Mck will be releasing a long-form piece addressing the revelations from the livestream and the wider implications of American foreign influence operations embedding themselves into cultural spaces across Africa and its diaspora.

❤️ That’s where diligence comes in
To love music & to be diligent about it, are two different conversations
Diligence creates room for study, reflection , learning &unlearning.. it causes you to seek improvement
IMO, Loving & making music isn’t enough.. Diligence matters more

Verify how valuable the event will be to you & the certainty of the outcome before deciding whether to pay (lobby) or not.
There are 3 Decision Models that can guide you in making such moves:
1. Decision under certainty
2. Decision under uncertainty
3. Decision under Risk
I cover this in my book: Artist Development-Moving from Good to Valuable.

In my book tittled Artist Development-Moving from Good to Valuable, I came up with The ‘Boring Meter’ Approach for Measuring progress & success of Marketing campaigns.
It measures the effectiveness of marketing campaigns; by
assessing the level of excitement generated.👇

Facts. What I'd add is that you'd need to have skin in the game to the level that you'd come to this realization on your own. What's described here isn't common sense or knowledge but is a part of the "artists should think of themselves as businesses" advice we're given.
If there is one thing you should be ashamed of as a full-time Artiste who has been doing music for at least 3 years, it is having less than 200 monthly listeners.
Your inability to get at least 200 people to listen to your music in a month is an indication that your music business is not working.
It means you have either failed to build an audience, failed to understand your market, failed to create enough reasons for people to care about your music, or failed to consistently put your music in front of the right people.
And before you blame algorithm, lack of money, gatekeepers, blogs, or the industry, ask yourself why after 3 years of doing music full-time, you haven’t been able to build an audience or community of just 200 people.
200 listeners isn’t a superstar benchmark.
It is a minimum evidence of commitment, value, productivity, and traction.
