#BREAKING: Japanese Minister Hosono issues emergency request urging citizens to stockpile food and water.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Hosono announced he will issue the "emergency request" on Nov. 2 with the new Disaster Prevention Agency launch. It urges standard stockpiles of 3+ days food/water/toilets for known quake risks like Nankai Trough, not any imminent threat. fnn.jp/articles/-/114… asahi.com/articles/ASVBN…

This is such a desperate attempt to justify. It's obviously rattled the people concerned or they wouldn't be writing 8 pages of why it didn't bother them. Being a public figure also involves knowing how to not let opinions affect you, to let the storm pass. This isn't it.

Today, the calendar makes a right triangle, for the last time this century. This Saturday is October 24, 2026. Write it as 10/24/26 or 24/10/26, and the same beautiful relationship appears: 10² + 24² = 26² 100 + 576 = 676 But here’s what makes today special. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples. Only a handful fit our calendar. Using the rule month² + day² = (last two digits of the year)², the month cannot exceed 12, and the day cannot exceed 31. Those small limits leave exactly 12 qualifying dates in this century. Today is the last. The next will be March 4, 2105: 3² + 4² = 5² That is a wait of more than 78 years. An infinite family of triangles. Just twelve appearances on a century’s calendar. Happy Pythagorean Triple Day.

The FBI continues to warn about two critical security flaws in PHP, a programming language used to build many websites and online services. Attackers could exploit these vulnerabilities to break into systems, putting sensitive information and business operations at risk. Security updates are available and should be applied immediately. If you are a business owner or website operator, check whether your systems are affected. Contact your IT support team, website developer, or hosting provider for help identifying vulnerable systems and applying the necessary updates. The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now: ➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. ➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP. ➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation. ➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims. For the latest information on these vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), follow PHP’s announcements on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

BREAKING: UK government urges citizens to stockpile at least 3 days of emergency food & water amid the global cybersecurity crisis.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The UK government's advice to have 3 days of emergency supplies on hand is not directly related to current cybersecurity issues. 🚨 BREAKING: NOW JAVA IS FACING A CRITICAL SECURITY EMERGENCY. Oracle has issued an OUT-OF-BAND security alert for a dangerous 9.1/10 vulnerability affecting Java and GraalVM. And the most alarming part? Hackers could exploit vulnerable applications REMOTELY, without a password or ANY user interaction. Here's what's happening: → CRITICAL 9.1/10 FLAW: CVE-2026-91403 affects Java's JSSE security component. → NO LOGIN REQUIRED: Attackers could potentially exploit vulnerable applications remotely without authentication. → SENSITIVE DATA AT RISK: Successful attacks could expose, modify, or delete critical application data. → MULTIPLE JAVA VERSIONS AFFECTED: Oracle lists affected releases across Java 8, 11, 17, 21, 25, and 27. → GRAALVM ALSO AFFECTED: Oracle confirms the vulnerability impacts multiple GraalVM releases. → EMERGENCY PATCH ALERT: Oracle released an urgent security update rather than waiting for its next scheduled patch cycle. The list of critical vulnerabilities just keeps growing. If you operate Java applications or servers, CHECK YOUR SECURITY UPDATES NOW.

People circulating this video are pure evil. Lighting yourself on fire is one of the most painful ways to go. One had to be really mentally incapacitated to take such a step. And to do it on live stream. Can't fathom what was going on in his mind.

SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.
