"Nobody likes Ted Cruz" has long been a running joke in D.C. The late Lindsey Graham famously said "if you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody could convict you".
This discourse is so fucking dumb, especially since Cheesecake Factory is pretty famously not a Middle America restaurant. It's pretty much exclusively in big cities, and was founded in California. Not really a staple of Iowa or Wisconsin.
