Check out Harry Stebbings on why he’s betting on @getserval.
This is the only show you need to listen to in tech: - OpenAI Cuts Valuation to $1.25TRN - Public Market Meltdown: GOOG Loses $500BN in 12 Hours - DoorDash Buys Instacart for $17BN - Kalshi Raises $1BN and Cognition Eyes $80BN Valuation My notes with @jasonlk and @rodriscoll 1. Kalshi Have Departed the Social Good, They Are a Sports Gambling Market Kalshi started out as a prediction market with some social utility and has since become a sports gambling market growing like a weed. Sports betting is regulated state by state, and Kalshi is pushing through on a national basis, which is why Utah is suing. VCs will put a lot of money into what is working. 2. Why I Would Invest in Cognition at $80BN At $80B, Cognition looks market correct, and coding agents remain the one thing that never stops working. Cognition got lucky buying the Windsurf team and IP, but its momentum is too strong to sit out. With the fund up 5X on paper, the pitch is to put its last $2B into Cognition. 3. Why I Would Invest in Serval over Cognition and Baseten ServiceNow is an old guard with a sales-led CEO, while Serval has an amazing product and the best enterprise adoption Harry has seen. A 10X looks very likely at Serval, but far harder at Baseten at $30B or Cognition. The catch is Serval only raised $150M, so a fund that must deploy capital still has to do Cognition. 4. Where Is the Risk in the AI Trade Right Now? If AI demand is as strong as people think, every GPU and data center will be needed and CoreWeave's bonds will be money good. If demand falls short, the first to suffer will not be Google or Amazon with their big balance sheets, but companies like CoreWeave. 5. Why Large Foundation Model Companies Will Acquire in the Robotic Space Foundation model companies will either build or buy a robotics model. An LLM sells to the 81 million knowledge workers in the US, and a robotics foundation model lets the same company address physical workers too, doubling its TAM in the prospectus. That lure means there could well be acquisitions in the space. 6. Agents Are an Existential Risk to DoorDash DoorDash said AI agents sent only several hundred orders against 3 million deliveries a day, which Jason called a dumb comment. Agents can tell users which restaurants deliver themselves or offer pickup, cutting out platform fees. Rory counters that ordering dinner through an agent is not much easier than using the DoorDash app. 7. Why Pricing Pressure Hit Anthropic in Q3 Anthropic's GAAP revenue went from roughly $5B in Q1 to $11B in Q2 and $17B in Q3, so quarter-on-quarter growth fell from about 100% to about 50%, still 5X year-on-year. Jason puts the slowdown down to pricing pressure, with OpenAI selling somewhat equivalent products for 30% off, while demand on OpenRouter has not declined. (links in comments)

Two years ago, we were a few people in a WeWork. @getserval has now raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia. When @jakeserval and I started Serval, our bet was that LLMs would make code cheap enough to create and maintain that companies could automate far more of their operations, including the long tail of rare, messy, company-specific workflows that were too hard to automate before. We chose code as the source of truth for workflows. Models are good at writing it, and code is deterministic: teams can read the logic, test how it behaves, and know it will run the same way every time against their systems. We designed Serval around that review process, with security built in from the start. Catalyst, our automation agent, is available only to admins to build and test workflows before publishing them to the rest of the org. The employee-facing team help agent can call published workflows, but it can’t create new ones or change what they do. Permissions and approvals live inside each workflow, and audit logs record what each one did. This round lets us double down on Catalyst. When we started, we wanted anyone in a company to be able to automate their work. That’s already happening. Now we’re building what comes next. More in @FortuneMagazine: fortune.com/2026/10/29/serva… P.S. We're hiring engineers. You’ll work with smart, low-ego people, own difficult problems, and ship to some of the world’s largest enterprises. If that sounds fun to you, we’d like to talk.

Starting today, every engineer who joins Serval begins with a weeklong, $10,000 paid vacation. We’re building the next generational company. We need generational talent to see it through. Our mission has always been to empower people across every team to turn their understanding of a problem into working, trustworthy automations. Making that function inside the largest enterprises takes world-class engineering. That’s what you’d be joining us to do. There are foundational decisions still to make, and the engineers making them will shape the future of how big we can build this company. We want you to arrive rested and ready to do the best work of your life. So your first week is a chance to get away. And if a @getserval employee refers you, both you and that employee receive $30,000, on top of the vacation. Come build with us: serval.com/careers

We were early believers that IT would embrace these tools and become super builders, but I've also been surprised by the enthusiastic adoption in other functions. I think there's just an innate human desire to make things.
a few years ago, I started out skeptical that many non-engineers really wanted to make/mod their own personal software -- but I've come around, think I was wrong. range of desires from: - I feel so powerful - no one will make me the workflow/personalization I need - can I just PM the product for a few weeks and fix this thing that is driving me crazy obvious in retrospect, but if the ease:power ratio is good enough, of course people will make their own software

Serval customers start in IT. Then HR. Then Finance. Then Legal. Today some of the most complex organizations in the world run their most critical workflows on it. Jake, Alex and the team earned that trust. Proud to be partners.
We raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia. Our third round in 12 months, bringing our total funding to $277M. Our team has grown 10x in the last 12 months. We now serve Fox Corporation, WPP, Live Nation, Lucid Motors, and Ramp, and many of them are fully replacing legacy platforms with @getserval. AI coding tools have transformed how engineers work. Serval brings that same power to every team, so anyone can build governed automations across the systems they already use. We’re hiring 500+ people over the next year and expanding in San Francisco, NYC, London, Austin, and beyond. If you’re down to take on legacy enterprise systems and transform how teams work, my cofounder @AlexAtServal and I would love to meet you. It’s Serval now.

I first met @jakeserval after an intro from @MattEvantic. We went for a walk in Hyde Park. What 99% of founders don’t have; a DNA for distribution. Understanding brand, content, reach and the importance of it. It was so clear to me so quickly that Jake was different. He just got it. He wasn’t afraid to be bold with their messaging and brand. And as a result, @getserval is handing it to ServiceNow and creating a fricking monster business. I think it was the short shorts that convinced him to let me invest but I am so chuffed he did. LFG and this will be a $300BN business. 🚀

For all the talk of the “SaaSpocalypse,” where AI obliterates traditional software, the technology still hasn’t deeply penetrated inside most companies, says Jake Stauch, CEO of enterprise automation firm Serval. But his two-year-old startup wants to change that. Read more: forbes.com/sites/rashishriva… 📷: Serval

Bad day to be a legacy platform. Had a great time discussing competitor stock prices amidst today's news with the @tbpn lads.

Super impressive to see Serval, at <3YO, do full rip and replaces for ITSM, a key “system of record” in big companies In doing diligence, I called an old friend who leads technology at a finserv firm. He was all-in IT wants codegen! And the agility that comes with it

Your peptides may be coming fentanyl suppliers. Anhui Renchen Technology was indicted in 2023 for supplying the Sinaloa Cartel with fentanyl precursors. Their website currently sells semaglutide and melanotan II. Of roughly 200 Chinese firms TRM Labs tracked selling fentanyl precursors, at least 50 now sell peptides. The shipments enter the US in “master cartons” mislabelled as snack food, broken up by a domestic handler and mailed on. CBP has intercepted around 400 of those operations and seized over 130,000 vials in the past year. FDA records surfaced showing two deaths, one in July and one in September, reported after people injected untested black market retatrutide.
