Starting today, every engineer who joins Serval begins with a weeklong, $10,000 paid vacation. We’re building the next generational company. We need generational talent to see it through.
Our mission has always been to empower people across every team to turn their understanding of a problem into working, trustworthy automations. Making that function inside the largest enterprises takes world-class engineering.
That’s what you’d be joining us to do. There are foundational decisions still to make, and the engineers making them will shape the future of how big we can build this company.
We want you to arrive rested and ready to do the best work of your life. So your first week is a chance to get away.
And if a @getserval employee refers you, both you and that employee receive $30,000, on top of the vacation.

Every company wants to automate more of its work, but a single workflow can take months to build and configure with legacy platforms.
Yesterday I joined @NYSE to talk about how we’re changing that at @getserval and using our $150M Series C to double down on Catalyst, our automation agent, and grow ProServal, our new professional services arm.

We take onboarding pretty seriously at Serval.
So seriously that every new engineering hire gets a luxury vacation in their first week (up to $10K).
We're also growing incredibly quickly and looking for great engineers to join the team.
Refer a friend and you both get $30K.

Two years ago, we were a few people in a WeWork. @getserval has now raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia.
When @jakeserval and I started Serval, our bet was that LLMs would make code cheap enough to create and maintain that companies could automate far more of their operations, including the long tail of rare, messy, company-specific workflows that were too hard to automate before.
We chose code as the source of truth for workflows. Models are good at writing it, and code is deterministic: teams can read the logic, test how it behaves, and know it will run the same way every time against their systems.
We designed Serval around that review process, with security built in from the start. Catalyst, our automation agent, is available only to admins to build and test workflows before publishing them to the rest of the org. The employee-facing team help agent can call published workflows, but it can’t create new ones or change what they do. Permissions and approvals live inside each workflow, and audit logs record what each one did.
This round lets us double down on Catalyst. When we started, we wanted anyone in a company to be able to automate their work. That’s already happening. Now we’re building what comes next.

P.S. We're hiring engineers. You’ll work with smart, low-ego people, own difficult problems, and ship to some of the world’s largest enterprises. If that sounds fun to you, we’d like to talk.

Bad day to be a legacy platform.
Had a great time discussing competitor stock prices amidst today's news with the @tbpn lads.
We raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia. Our third round in 12 months, bringing our total funding to $277M.
Our team has grown 10x in the last 12 months. We now serve Fox Corporation, WPP, Live Nation, Lucid Motors, and Ramp, and many of them are fully replacing legacy platforms with @getserval.
AI coding tools have transformed how engineers work. Serval brings that same power to every team, so anyone can build governed automations across the systems they already use.
We’re hiring 500+ people over the next year and expanding in San Francisco, NYC, London, Austin, and beyond.
If you’re down to take on legacy enterprise systems and transform how teams work, my cofounder @AlexAtServal and I would love to meet you.
It’s Serval now.
I think @getserval is the fastest-growing enterprise system of record in history (I'm not 100% sure, but I haven't been able to falsify the hypothesis).
That's cool, but the real story is why. Why are things working so well?
First and foremost, @jakeserval @AlexAtServal @TatianaBirgisso and the rest of the team have a unique blend of passion, clear-thinking, creativity, and pace... they do the right things with a high degree of craft and quality, quickly.
Second, the product they built is amazing. It has a natural insertion point into any enterprise, and then it just keeps spreading from one team to the next. Easy entry with widespread adoption is a powerful dynamic.
Finally, the market is wide open. IT needs an AI-native platform to call their own, and Serval hit the nail on the head.
It's been a pleasure to work with @getserval alongside my partner @biad_anas, and we are beyond thrilled to double down!

Zero startups besides Serval have successfully done an enterprise ITSM replacement in the last 5Y+
We raised a $150M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by @sequoia, to give everyone in the enterprise the power to build and automate like an engineer.
In under two years, AI coding tools have transformed how engineering teams work. Engineers describe what they want and ship it the same day. We want the same for everyone. From IT and HR to legal, security, talent, marketing, and beyond.
We’ve onboarded two of the Fortune 20 in the last six months and doubled ARR every quarter since our Series B. Customers include @FOXCorp, @WPP, @LiveNation, and @tryramp.
Now the hard part. Bringing @getserval to every employee means:
→ Trust at scale: agents never get more power than the person asking
→ Reliability for people who don’t write code
→ Agents that find and fix problems before anyone realizes something is wrong
→ One system of record for every department
In the last 12 months, the team has grown by 10x. Now we’re hiring the best engineers in the world to build what’s next.

An @AbridgeHQ employee submits a travel request. @getserval reaches into Ramp, creates a virtual card, and sets the daily limit based on the employee’s role on the org chart.
No back-and-forth with Finance.
It’s one of 300+ workflows Abridge runs on Serval today, alongside 13 proactive agents and a 50%+ automation rate.
Next, they're rolling out access request workflows across every application. Abridge is migrating to Okta, and Catalyst, Serval's automation agent, is rebuilding those workflows across 74 apps.
We love building with the Abridge team. Check out the case study: serval.com/customers-abridge

Before starting @getserval, @jakeserval changed one question in his customer interviews. He asked IT teams what they would hand to someone hired to sit next to them and do their work.
Almost everyone said the same thing. Building automations took longer than doing the task itself, which left them resetting passwords by hand, week after week.
Serval automates the automations for every team that supports employees.

When an agent can open dozens of pull requests a day, human review alone becomes a bottleneck. Security needs to keep pace with how we’re building.
Sam Stewart (@nfFrenchie), our head of security, has been working on exactly this: if agents write the code, security requirements need to live where agents can read them and check their work as they go.
So our threat models now live in the codebase. They evolve alongside relevant code changes and are checked in CI against shared security requirements. Sam also contributed a new Invariants feature to the open source tool threatcl, so agents can validate their threat models against those requirements before a person reviews the change.
It’s the same principle behind @getserval: give agents clear boundaries and checks so they can take on more work safely.
Proud of Sam and the team for this work. If you’re figuring out how security keeps pace with AI-assisted development, you can read his write-up here: serval.com/blog/agentic-thre…
An interview loop gives us a few hours with a candidate.
A former teammate may have years. They’ve seen how that person works when the problem is hard, the plan changes, and nobody is telling them what to do.
That gap in signal is why we treat recruiting at @getserval as a systems problem. We pay employees at least $20,000 when someone they refer is hired. We’ve also built internal tools that match people’s networks to open roles, suggest who to reach out to, and map how referral networks grow (with an internal leaderboard, naturally). On top of that, we invest in events so the team can bring their networks in.
About 40% of Serval has joined this way.
Raising the bar is one of our core operating principles, so a referral doesn’t shortcut anything. Every referred candidate goes through the same interviews and scorecards.
We’re building something big, and I’m proud of the team behind it. Many of them were vouched for by someone who’d seen their best work, and every one of them earned the offer.
If you’re the person your best former teammates would hire again, we want to meet you: serval.com/careers
