Important data on NTproBNP and serum TTR level
We've always known about the inverse relationship of these variables at baseline - but the data provided help one understand patients risk. They also provide evidence to the significance of TTR level at baseline and an indirect evidence that the change in that level is important. However, we still cant equate the risk at a certain baseline measure off drug to the same level on drug. Pharmacological manuipulation might not carry the same magnitude of effect. An important future use of TTR, if validated, is to define lack of response to TTR directed therapies.

Diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis with a single test-I124 evuzamitide PET/CT: a (-) scan excludes and a (+) scan confirms it. Can image multiple amyloid types and in multiple organs. Grateful to the commitment of patients, investigators, & study committees of the REVEAL trial.

Even if you never care for patients with cardiac amyloidosis, the CARDIO-TTRansform trial offers lessons in looking beyond soundbite of a clinical trial to understand what the findings really mean for patient care.

Clinician Lighthouse: This week, Betty Raman and Sanjay Prasad break it down into three steps: recognize the LGE pattern, weigh it against LVEF (not in isolation), then factor in genotype, family history, and arrhythmia burden.
Betty's own words, on this week's Circulation on the Run podcast — a good "Lighthouse lesson," as Jane Wilcox called it.
