🌬️ Over the last few days, we've encountered some fascinating #Arctic vent #fauna!
These chemosynthetic #ecosystems create truly unique habitats that attract specialized species of shrimps 🦐, worms 🪱, and even sandworm-looking isopods! 🦀.

🇦🇷 We’re thrilled to have Dr Pamela Rivadeneira on board #ArcticDeep.
Pamela’s #research has focused on the #diversity and reproduction of deep-sea starfish, and her career has seen her describe a new genus and new #species.
We’re excited to learn from her expertise!

We need more independent marine research. The #DeepSeaMining industry purports the deep sea as a very barren place, low in biodiversity. However, now we know there is greater biodiversity than expected, says @AlexDavidRogers at #OceanDecade24.
