I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

I see Jews saying this constantly and then basically every media outlet covers this as us being single issue pro-Israel voters. Israel can handle its problems. We are a minority facing record high antisemitic violence.

An Abdul El-Sayed supporter said voters are “stupid” and the best way to win is to hide the truth.
Abdul El-Sayed and Hasan Piker nodded in agreement.
“The encouraging thing is that people are stupid.”

My speech at a 10/7 vigil in the Bronx:
Three years ago, October 7th—the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust—cruelly coincided with Simchat Torah. What should have been a day of joy became one of overwhelming grief, shock, and trauma. On that day, Jews throughout the world were robbed of the joy of Simchat Torah.
When I led a Bronx delegation to Israel for the first time since October 7th, I will never forget the experience of meeting the survivors of the Nova massacre and finding myself inspired by their resilience, by their insistence on defying despair itself, by the message: “We will dance again.” Those words remind us that the joy of Simchat Torah can never be surrendered to terror. It must be reclaimed.
The most powerful antidote to antisemitism is to be joyfully Jewish. Franklin Roosevelt once said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Jewish identity is a beautiful gift. It is not something to be hidden out of fear. It is something to be openly celebrated with joy. With pride. With passion. And with love.
The purpose of terrorism is to strike terror into the heart of a people. The Jewish people and their allies must never stop dancing, never stop singing, and never stop living. Because the moment we stop, terror has won.
And terror can never have the final word on the fate of either the Jewish people or the Jewish State.
So I have a simple call to action:
Never give up. Never give in.
Never stop singing. Never stop dancing.
Relentlessly rejoice in your Judaism.
Am Yisrael Chai.

The Biden admin fully ended any sort of theory of mind that there's a direct relationship between doing good/popular stuff and approval from voters. That's no longer the case.
The Biden admin did a whole host of things voters claimed to want (and that polled incredibly well) and nobody gave a shit.

When Jews were being slaughtered in Europe and Russia, they didn’t invade anyone, they went home, they bought land, legally.
The region had no sovereign state at the time, only centuries of occupation under foreign empires.
They drained swamps, built cities, created infrastructure, and that success attracted migrants, from Egypt, from the Levant, from the Arabian Peninsula, who came seeking opportunity in the land they were reviving.
When the Ottoman occupation ended, everyone in the region got a state.
The Maronites in the north got Lebanon.
The Hashemites got Jordan. Iraq was born. Syria too.
So Jews asked for one state, just one, but they were told no.
They still agreed to share the land, even though they were offered the worst half, mostly desert.
Their neighbors still said no.
Then came 1948.
Five Arab armies invaded to wipe them out. They fought, survived and won.
Then they offered peace again, but the Arabs answered with the Three No’s of Khartoum: No peace. No recognition. No negotiations.
Arabs tried again in 1967 to destroy them. Jews survived again. They captured more land, not out of ambition, but necessity.
But when peace was possible, they gave land back.
They returned Sinai to Egypt.
They withdrew from Southern Lebanon. They offered to withdraw from Gaza and the West Bank.
They offered the Palestinians everything they asked for in 2000.
Yet, Palestinians walked away.
In 2005, they unilaterally withdrew from Gaza. In return they got rockets, terror tunnels, kidnapped civilians.
Then came October 7, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Civilians slaughtered, babies burned, women raped.
So I ask: What do you want them to do?
Because “Never Again” means never again.
You don’t get to massacre their people and then cry about the consequences.
You don’t get to raise your children to hate them and then blame them when war comes.
They will not apologize for surviving, they will not apologize for fighting back.
Never Again means Never Again.

Some numbers tell a dispositive story.
1939: 40 million Arabs in the world.
2026: 450 million Arabs in the world
1939: 17 million Jews in the world.
2026: 16 million Jews in the world
1939: 4 sovereign Arab states
2026: 22 sovereign Arab states
1939: 0 sovereign Jewish states.
2026: 1 sovereign Jewish state
Tell me again what the argument is about.

We got an early taste of New York Magazine's new direction in the days after 10/7.
In September 2023, we got a call: my husband @BenZevG would be featured in @NYMag's list of the most powerful New Yorkers. A (lovely) reporter interviewed multiple people about our synagogue. Mark Peterson came to take pictures of services right after Yom Kippur. The piece was filed.
Then came 10/7. That Friday, we got another call. He'd been cut. "Editors got spooked," we were told.
This was a little story about a shul drawing young Jews back to faith. It had nothing to do with the Middle East. Overnight, New York Jews like us -- Orthodox, deeply connected to our ancestral homeland -- had become untouchable. It was chilling. I sensed, in that moment, that this would be the beginning of Jews being pushed out of cultural institutions, and eventually, erased.
So if you ever wondered why that list had 49 names instead of 50, now you know. They cut the rabbi.

If I understand correctly, MAGA wants to fix elite colleges by deporting kids with brown skin, and the Left wants to admit students who can't do basic math because 'equity'
I take the squishy centrist view that elite schools should just admit the kids with the best test scores

Imagine for 1 second that you have it wrong and Jews are telling the truth. That the genocide libel is bs. That Hamas are terrorists. That you are being manipulated to desire the removal of Jews from society.
Do you understand if we’re right, that makes you the millions of European and African and Asian friends and neighbors who wiped millions of us off 3 continents just a few decades ago?
What’s more likely - that we, the tiny minority who have been libeled and blamed and persecuted by every society in which we’ve ever lived for centuries, are the bad guys? Or that you, the non-Jewish masses who have hounded and defamed and slaughtered us all over the world over and over and over again, have once again been suckered in by propaganda you unquestioningly latch onto because it gives you a scapegoat to blame for your own problems and sins?
“History repeats itself… except this time! I’m different!” Is essentially what every Jew hater tells themselves. No. You are no different than the Iraqi or Soviet or German or Algerian who turned on their Jewish neighbors the second they got the societal green light. Never in the history of the world has the group persecuting Jews been “on the right side of history.” Not once.
Courage isn’t going with the crowd to hate on us some more. That’s easy. Courage is looking in the mirror, in a history book, at what is happening to Jews in our society, and saying stop this train, I’m getting off.

I find it funny that leftists have spent the past 3 years harassing Jews, deplatforming Jews, and beating Jews. Then when they feel an iota of pushback it feels like tyranny to them. I guess equality does feel like oppression when it's your first time.

Yesterday, a film accusing Israel of genocide premiered.
It’s a horrific blood libel against our sons and daughters. What makes it especially painful and infuriating is that this lie comes from Israeli filmmakers and is now being spread around the world.
Let’s get the facts straight:
On October 7th, Hamas invaded Israel to murder Jews. Hamas terrorists slaughtered children in front of their parents and parents in front of their children. They burned homes, raped women, and kidnapped babies, children and elderly people.
Then Hamas fled back to Gaza and deliberately hid behind its own civilians, using them as human shields in homes, schools, and hospitals.
And when Israel fights back, and civilians are tragically killed in this terrible war, Israel is accused of “genocide.”
There is no magic button that can destroy Hamas, or any terrorist organization hiding behind civilians, without harming a single civilian. It simply does not exist.
In interviews with the international media, I always ask: “What would you do?”
They never have an answer.
If Israel wanted to hurt the people of Gaza, we would not send our sons and daughters to fight house to house, through alleyways and tunnels, at the terrible cost of our own soldiers being killed and wounded.
We would not warn civilians before strikes and evacuate them from combat zones.
We would not help vaccinate hundreds of thousands of children in Gaza against polio.
The war in Gaza is terrible. The death of every child is a tragedy.
But a terrible war is not genocide.
Even now, Hamas doesn’t regret October 7th. It’s rearming and waiting for another opportunity to carry out a massacre.
The people standing between us and that next massacre are our soldiers and reservists. Our sons and daughters who put their lives at risk so that we can live here safely.
I love them.
I am proud of them.
And I am deeply grateful to them.
To portray them as perpetrators of “genocide” is not courageous art.
It is a cowardly blood libel.
And I will not remain silent.

Somehow the progressive left, which spent the past ten years calling out cultural appropriation, has determined that it’s completely fine to have a non-Jewish woman who is no friend to the Jewish community define and politicize one of the most important Jewish holidays.
Shana Tova to my Jewish friends, neighbors, and comrades who are celebrating Rosh Hashanah!
Rosh Hashanah is an opportunity to embrace possibilities for renewal and Tikkun Olam, “repairing the world.” By choosing solidarity over division, standing with immigrants and all those facing persecution, and rejecting war, oppression, and fear, we can chart a path towards our collective liberation.
Here’s to a sweet new year, and to continuing the work of building a more just and peaceful world together in 5787 and beyond.

The flight data recorder from United Airlines Flight 93 is recovered.
The impact of the crash was so severe that the black box was embedded 15 feet (4.5m) underground.
Investigators learn for the first time that a passenger revolt forced the hijackers to crash the plane before they could fly it to the U.S. Capitol or to the White House.
