Bittersweet.
While I am elated that Labour have formed a new government, the one our country so desperately needs to return us to growth.
I am, personally, disappointed that I won’t get the chance to represent South West Herts as your first ever Labour MP 🌹
Five reasons to vote for me - @LabourWomensNet Executive Committee 🗳️ #LWNElects24
1. I stood as a @UKLabour parliamentary candidate in this year’s general election. Win or lose, putting yourself forward takes guts. I want to encourage other women to be part of democracy.
4. I campaign for fairer workplaces, and helped launch the employers programme at the @SMCommission. We raised the issue up the political agenda, and galvanised the support of British business to open up opportunities for people, irrespective of background.
5. Common sense and courage. I say it like it is. We need all kinds of people to govern, but I have the courage to speak up and challenge the status quo where necessary. Sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed for real change to happen.

2. A voice for the creative industries. I worked in Film & TV, and freelance creatives urgently need our support right now. It’s not just about creating opportunities for young talent, it’s also about making sure people can build sustainable careers.

🗳️Voting is now open for the LWN Executive Committee🗳️
@LabourWomensNet has been instrumental in my political journey, giving me the confidence to stand for parliament. It’s time to give back and help shape the future of British politics.

LWN training works!
What drove an historic 6.7% increase in women MPs at #GE24?
100 new @UKLabour women MPs, 58 of them trained by @LabourWomensNet.

@LabourWomensNet Chair @abenaopp has been promoted to a ministerial position, leaving a vacant spot. Those are some big shoes to fill, and I can think of no one better to do so than @ThangamDebb.

Having worked in Film & TV for a decade, I am acutely aware of the state of play for creatives. Thangam is a strong, and much needed, voice for our creatives industries. She has also been a wonderful mentor to my close friend @lisa_raftery.
You have my vote, good luck Thangam!
Great news this evening, as Richard Olszewski is chosen to lead @CamdenCouncil in its next chapter, taking over from @Georgia_Gould 👏
Huge thank you to my @CamdenLabour colleagues for choosing me as the next Camden council Leader.
A real privilege to follow @GeorgiaGould, who was a truly inspirational and transformative Leader.
I look forward to working with all our fantastic communities across the borough.

As the dust settles on this year’s #GE, I caught up with @5050Parliament last night. Proud that @UKLabour has achieved such a diverse Parliament. 46% of Labour MPs are women, and it has taken 800 years, but we finally have our first chancellor! 👏 👏🏻 👏🏾 🌹

Fabians are at the heart of the new government. Unfortunately this means that some members of our Executive Committee must step down in order to fulfil their new roles on the frontbench in the House of Commons and House of Lords.
We are incredibly grateful for the massive contributions @AnnelieseDodds, @wesstreeting, @LordRoyKennedy and @SonnyLeong53 have made to the Fabians over recent years, and look forward to seeing their impact in government.
Congratulations on your new appointments!
