I think you posted another email earlier from Dr. Gibbs in which he was essentially doing an informal criminal investigation outside of normal procedures. This additional email from Dr. ZA suggests that several consultants were involved in running their own criminal investigation independent of the police. This is very unusual. If criminal activity is suspected then police and coroners need to be involved at the time of the suspicions. In the Letby case several consultants appear to be involved in trawling medical records to look for data to implicate a nurse. I am not a lawyer, but this type of searching through medical records looking for potentially incriminating information against a nurse you are targeting is probably not legal. Doctors and nurses are allowed to review records of patients they are providing care for. Trawling large sets of records of patients you are NOT actively caring for is usually restricted. I think these data searches by the consultants is probably illegal. There is a lot of evidence now that consultants were doing their own unofficial criminal investigation, and they appear to have illegally accessed hospital records to run their investigation. The purpose appears to have been to target Letby. This is not right.
