"But wont you feel bad for the 400 FTEs wearing the skinsuit of your previously beloved dev?" No. Theyre rent seekers making ungodly aggregate sums to destroy beloved IP (slowly). They are the affirmative enemy of the health of these IPs. And they should own their failures
If we can remove the grifter bullshit and put aside whatever opinion you have of their last 2 games for 2 seconds, this is objectively a fucking awful thing that just keeps happening again and again. 400 people out of a job because the industry continues to cannibalize itself

Fascinating. You mean to tell me the acceptance rate for whites and east Asians are not different in a statistically significant way? And anti-asian discrimination is predominantly against South Asians? Casts a whole new light on "personality scores". Horseshoe w Vance when?
White applicants with a 1550+ SAT get into Columbia at twice the rate of South Asians with the same scores (17% vs 8%), and slightly above East Asians.

What has happened to the WSJ? I’ve subscribed for years. But the financial information is largely gone - and a concentration on markets, investing and economics has given way to Politico style blogging. The Bureau Chief is a former Washington Post lefty who has hired former Politico and Huffington Post activists to cover economics. It’s not working. They have reporters now who don’t understand finance. You open the app in the morning and all you see is political commentary and partisan attacks. It’s become a paid Politico style publication and everyone knows it. It’s fallen - and needs to go back to its roots of economic reporting. There are too many left wing political commentary outlets already.

Like. What do you do with this society? I have repeatedly told my wife i hope to god we never have a boy. Which is heartbreaking but accurate. There is no world for boys to not be demonized by default and without facts and evidence and support.
AOC weighs in on the Cornell rape allegations: “Seven men drugged and gang raped a 20 year-old woman. They lured her in… Seven men took turns gang raping her for seven hours.”

There is a fundamental problem with our responsibility-regimes where a girl can knowingly and willingly pregame a party with 10 drinks and then *anything that happens after* is on the rest of society to manage. The guys involved are of course shitbags. But... this sucks
after consuming 10 drinks in 3 hrs, a 20 y/o woman stumbles over to a frat house where a male friend greets her, gives her one beer, dances with her, and propositions a threesome. she goes upstairs with him. that is the PLAINTIFF'S account of how this incident began.

This is a very (in my opinion) insightful take on the recent Twitter story of the day
One really important problem with Nikole Hannah-Jones's approach to and values about education are right there in her headline: She is "fighting for every black child." But there are no white parents who make their education decisions within a framework of "fighting for every white child" or Asian parents who are "fighting for every Asian child." Rather, members of these groups understand their kids as competing with other white or Asian children for scarce opportunities for social advancement. Whites and Asians are competing for those scarce opportunities with whites and Asians from all over the country, so no matter how well their kid may be performing relative to the local cohort, they always need to push harder, move faster and do and be more. In a setting where everyone is white and there are no race politics implicated, white people have absolutely no compunction about pulling the highest performers out of a class and putting them on a gifted track, and pulling the low performers out of the class and putting them on a special education track, and getting the discipline problems out of the classroom entirely. And then the special ed parents advocate for special ed, and the gifted parents advocate for gifted funding, because everybody is advocating for the resources they think their kid needs to compete against all the other kids. Hannah-Jones believes whites and Asians favor academic tracking and sorting through standardized testing and selective admissions primarily as a ploy to separate their groups from blacks and Latinos, because she perceives all of politics as being about groups that practice internal solidarity lobbying for collective benefits over other groups. She despises people who are not like her and limits her contact with them to the point that she does not understand them and has no theory of mind for them. She simply assumes they are a mirror of herself and therefore she assumes white people hate black people the way she hates white people. She thinks all the sorting of children whites and Asians do is actually a shell game that is just meant to keep people like her out. But the truth is, people like her aren't even part of the consideration, because kids like hers are not part of the competition. This has historically worked out fine for children like her daughter, because affirmative action has historically meant kids like hers have seats reserved and don't have to outperform whites and Asians for a spot. As long as her kid was doing well among her cohort, she could go to any college she wanted. That is now less true since SFFA. Najya perceived that the schools that weren't like hers were better than her school, and Nikole tries to blame that disparity on resources or on privilege or on systemic racism. But the truth is, it's about values and it's about the perception of school as a competition that brings about better outcomes. Nikole Hannah-Jones has a values system built around resentment and complacency. She doesn't think in terms of trying to beat an Asian kid on a math test, instead she dismisses the test as an inaccurate instrument steeped in racist assumptions. But then it turned out her kid really couldn't do math. And, like her daughter, she didn't learn anything.

People are calling it "the most junior m&a associate post" ever made. Dont do this shit man you dont have to
I was a deal lawyer who did mergers. I copied and pasted contracts all day and all night, and I've never litigated anything in my life or really even been in a courtroom. Here's why that makes me the best qualified person to teach trial advocacy.

BREAKING: The holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial has broken his silence, saying eight fellow jurors behaved like “activists” who wanted her found not guilty on Day 1. Michael Desronvil said he concluded Clancy was guilty based on the evidence presented in court.

There's definitely some irony in realizing it will take the "trans" community in 5-10 years dealing with male pattern baldness for MacKenzie bezos to donate ungodly sums to the topic (Jeff is bald)
It’s gonna be funny when he develops his dad’s male pattern baldness and cybertruck torso

I feel like I am taking crazy pills seeing these replies. Are mainstream low info dems really this uninformed of anything relevant that has occurred since, say 2012? (I say as a former dem who voted for Hilary etc.)
After years of criticizing the Trump family for turning their proximity to political power into profit, President Biden’s son has decided to find his own grift. Pathetic.

Woke 1 is misnamed. The 2020 period of exuberance should be considered woke 2. Woke 1 (2010 to 2018): Sex and gender issues. Gay marriage gets legalised, slut shaming and man spreading are big preoccupations, starts out among weird and annoying undergrads and mainstreams, culminates in MeToo and pussy hats. Woke 2 (2018 to 2024): Race and Trans. BLM and trans women in sports are the big arguments. It starts out popular but over extends and finishes with Trump’s winning the election. Woke 3 (2024 to …): Palestine and economics. Obviously we’re still in it but Mamdani will probably be remembered as a big moment in this era.

I refuse to believe this is actually the account of Penn Law's Hovenkamp. Surely this is some troll who took a class of his in 2015 and thought it would be funny to make this account at the time. This post is so obviously the dumbest thing I have seen this year, must be bait

And the same court that had an individual who said "Facebook banned me from making truthful statements based on Biden pressure" and Facebook said "we banned her and many others based on Biden pressure" found no standing! Its amazing how standing doctrine is just calvinball!
The same Court that concocted a triple-bankshot theory to give the state of Missouri standing to sue to stop student debt relief finds no standing in this straightforward case.

Im probably going to continue to gripe with @TheFIREorg. And certainly plan to stop donating for the foreseeable The best argument for not supporting Hendrix in a clear speech criminal trial was allocation of resources but Khalil had an army of pro bono biglaw available to him

FIRE published ony after the verdict -- a bit late for a *criminal* speech punishment! Can you confirm or deny whether or not her team reached out and submitted a case request? They are on the record saying they did and were ignored.

I stand by this take. FIRE is staffed by left leaning lawyers who want to defend the first amendment on principle but buckle on "tough" cases. It was easy when it was just defending collegiate milquetoast "right wing" speech (and insane left wing speech) xitter.cf/AliceStepTwo/status/20…
FIRE is struggling tremendously from moving from "Education" to "Expression" Their whole prior existence was defending 1 st dev to the right speech from profs, and 5 st dev speech to the left from profs. Actual offensive speech? Unique challenge for them

Getting blocked by a midlaw lawyer who advises mechanic shops on M&A documents is hilarious. I have had my face ripped off by firms billing second years out at rates Dallin could never charge. He can go back to negotiating 30 page purchase agreements in silence
