No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa will make his NBA debut for the Washington Wizards tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources tell ESPN.
From Feb. 11, the Wizards' first CLE game after the Harden trade and last matchup before the regular season finale: Bilal led team in time defending Harden with 3:35 mins tracked (only Jamir Watkins came close with 2:15), while Kyshawn recorded 2:30 on Mitchell. JC will be missed

Hey Wiz fans! Back with another @AllWizardsTalk episode. We discussed the Wizards getting killed on the glass last night, positives and negatives from the last three games, and Marc Stein’s new report on Bilal Coulibaly.

Halftime thoughts as the Wizards trail the Hornets 54-44:
-Offense has been in the mud anytime the Wiz aren’t coming out of a timeout, not a fan of everyone watching AD dribble
-Trae Young’s been good inside the arc
-Glad to see assertive Sarr
-Kyshawn gets in his head too fast

Want to know a huge reason why the Wizards look good thus far? Their bench.
Here's how they rank among all bench units:
FG%: 1st (52.9)
AST-to-TO: 2nd (1.96)
3PT%: 6th (37.8)
Plus-minus: 7th (+3.8)
Scoring: 9th (40.7ppg)
This unit was DEAD LAST in +/- last year (-4.8).
I think the Trae + shooting ballhandlers + JC + big look has worked in limited minutes, here were Trae’s thoughts from last night on the unique benefits of that speedy, well-spaced combo
I got to ask Scottie Barnes about Justin Champagnie, “his guy,” given their time together as fellow rookies on the 2021-22 Raptors. He sounds like a fan of his game after watching him blossom into an NBA regular, as the two each made winning plays in tonight’s Wizards loss.
The Raptors are feasting on Kyshawn, who’s looking frustrated out there. Bodying up on his drives and picking off every entry pass, validating some of the fans’ worst fears regarding the young Wizards’ matchup against the defensively-deep Raptors
Alex Sarr taking some pregame shots ahead of Wizards-Raptors. Release looking notably closer to a smoother, one-motion action than it has in years past
Luckily for Josh we cut the cameras right before I called him a Nets fan again, fighting words
Hey Wiz fans, nice 30 min pod with @AllWizardsTalk here before the Raptors game tonight!
A telling two-play sequence. Bilal Coulibaly makes a corner three, thereby encouraging Tyler Herro to stay home on the weak side the next time down. That leaves empty space for Deandre Ayton to roll into, who Trae Young finds with ease. Well-spaced offense + defenders = profit
Alex Sarr had a quiet game in the Wizards’ opener while the coaching staff learns how to use him alongside AD, but this play really stuck out to me on a night filled with other players’ highlights. He crashes from the corner on a miss, sees he’s drawn a crowd and dishes inside.

Some insane Justin Champagnie numbers from Wednesday’s win:
Plus-minus: +17 (game high)
Offensive rating: 138.6 (game high)
Defensive rating: 102.3
Net rating: 36.3 (game high)

Brian Keefe sounded thrilled with the Wizards’ role-playing prospects remaining flexible, crediting the vets for adding experienced presences.
“You saw a lot of different combinations tonight…that’s what we’re looking for, how we’re gonna grow, how we’re gonna get better.”
