This is spot on. I had people vote for Trump to lower gas, food cost. The tariff and Irang war made cost go back up. Some told they don’t feel like voting because what was the point. Really disappointed. He could have had a great 4 years.

Instead, those voters got a costly war that raised gas prices and diesel. Prolonged tariffs that increased the costs of goods, and a poorly executed immigration policy that turned people off—and that’s putting it mildly.
The “it’s the demographics” excuses should fall on deaf ears because if that were true, there’s no way in hell we would’ve gotten the numbers we received in 2024. There was a generational opportunity to realign crucial voting blocs and Republicans screwed up.
Instead of making excuses, the party needs to have a serious reality check about what is obviously not working and move forward so that the focus can be on 2028 and 2032.

In 1970, the White population in Texas was 89%.
In 2000, it was 50%.
Now it’s less than 39%.

In 1970 the White population included Hispanic people because surveys in Texas didn't ask about Hispanic ethnicity as a separate question from race.
