NYCACC killed Snuggle Bug a few minutes ago😭💔…this gorgeous emaciated wee girl two year old girl who came to outfit for respite, food and care but instead they stole her shine ✨ How could they rob this little Ebony Beauty with tiny webbed paws of her life? She was happy, loved treats and just wanted to be loved….
I can’t believe that no one came Snuggle Bug…not one person in an area with 16 million stepped up for this wee little girl….I’m so sorry beautiful girl that you’re gone….
Run free🌌🌈Snuggle Bug run free🕊️

‼️BEYOND URGENT IN DOWNEY SLAUGHTER SHELTER‼️
💔 Not one person has asked for Harrison‼️💔💔For 30 days, Harrison has watched people walk past his kennel, wondering why nobody wants him.‼️💔💔
He doesn’t know he’s on the urgent list and that his life could end tomorrow.‼️‼️He doesn’t know that the people walking past him might be his last chance to ever be seen💔💔Yesterday, he put on his little costumes💔Maybe he thought someone would finally notice him or someone would fall in love and THIS would be the day someone chose him.But instead, he had to go back into his kennel… 💔💔💔
Harrison #A5804079 is only 3 yrs old.‼️An 83-pound German Shepherd with a heart that deserves so much more than a shelter kennel‼️Can you foster, rescue or responsibly adopt him?

@NYCACC silent kills have gotten totally out of control.
There is no oversight over their actions. They do as they please, often subjectively killing at will. WTH?
It's far easier to kill them since their focus is not placement.

The pumpkins are glowing,
The moon’s shining bright,
There’s magic and mischief
All through the night.
But forget all the ghosts,
The witches and boos,
The cutest thing this Halloween
Has four paws and Dumbo….ears.
Every year, we bring back this picture of Lancelot because some Halloween traditions are simply too precious to retire. And honestly, have you ever seen a cuter little elephant?!
Happy Howl-o-ween from all of us at Layla’s Heart Ranch and Rescue!

It’s a little later in the day than we usually post for $5 Friday, but we had a very special reason for waiting.
We wanted to make sure Truffle was OUT of the shelter before sharing the news.
And now we can finally say it…
TRUFFLE IS OUT OF THE SHELTER! HE IS SAFE! HE IS ALIVE!
Truffle was going to be killed after being deemed a dangerous dog following an incident in which his owner failed to appear in court.
His future was uncertain, and his life was on the line.
We were personally asked to step forward and save Truffle, and we knew we had to do everything in our power to give him the second chance he deserved.
And today, that second chance became a reality.
We want to extend an enormous THANK YOU to Final Frontier Rescue Project, who stepped up to pick Truffle up from the shelter, bring him to us, and help connect us with the incredible people who made it possible to put a safe plan in place for his future.
Rescue takes a village, and today that village saved Truffle’s life.
Now, as Truffle begins his next chapter, we need your help!
For this $5 Friday, we’re asking our supporters to consider donating $5, or whatever amount you’re able, toward Truffle’s care.
He will need veterinary care and continued support as we work to ensure that his future is everything he deserves.
Every single dollar makes a difference, and we would be beyond grateful for your support.
And if you’re able, please also consider making a donation to Final Frontier Rescue Project. Their willingness to step up and help us make this happen means more than words can express.
Today, we’re not sharing a plea to save Truffle’s life. We’re celebrating the fact that his life has been saved.
But the work doesn’t end when a dog walks out of the shelter. In so many ways, it’s just beginning.
Thank you for believing in second chances. Thank you for standing beside us. And thank you for helping us give dogs like Truffle the opportunity to live the lives they deserve.
Truffle is safe, loved and he has a future. Right now he is snoozing up a storm in the back of the car. I wonder wha the’s dream about?
Another life saved. Another second chance made possible. Today is a good day!
Happy $5 Friday!

We have some wonderful news to share!
Donut Swirl, also known as Lyric, has been reunited with her family! And what a beautiful reunion it was!
As it turns out, her real name is Hazel. I named her Lyric, Jackson named her Donut Swirl, and let’s be honest… who are we kidding? Her name is Donut Swirl, at least for us anyway. 😂
The sweetest part of all? Hazel was reunited with her three-year-old human sister, and she could not have been happier! Their reunion was absolutely beautiful, and watching the excitement and love between them was enough to melt anyone’s heart.
Unfortunately, we also learned that Laramie was not one of their dogs. Apparently, these two had simply crossed paths, became fast friends, and decided to embark on a little adventure together!
While we would have loved for both of them to be reunited with their families, we’re so incredibly happy that Hazel is back where she belongs.
As for sweet Laramie, he’ll remain with us at Layla’s Heart Ranch and Rescue while we continue trying to locate his family. We have a feeling there may not be anyone looking for him, but we certainly hope we’re wrong.
And if his family isn’t found? Well, Laramie will always have a home here at the ranch.
Sometimes rescue brings heartbreak, and sometimes it brings moments so beautiful they remind us exactly why we do this.
Today, we’re celebrating a little girl, her beloved dog, and a family made whole again.
Welcome home, Hazel! Or Lyric. Or Donut Swirl. 😂

Everett had a rescue. @NYCACC @NYCHealthCommr @nycHealthy killed him anyway.
What are you doing @HarveyforNY other than posing for photos with Everett's killers?
The city you claim to represent wants to know.
Brad, I received his records & did a writeup on my page.
There was no reason to kill Everett. They made a false claim of "Quality of Life", they couldn't intubate him for a neuter. Since when is a anesthetic issue considered a QOL?
A medical abnormality is not proof of an unacceptable quality of life. He had been eating, drinking, playing fetch while enjoying life. There was no confirmed any issues for 9 days with his jaw until the neuter.
2 hours after they attempted a surgery, they killed him as a silent kill. He had a rescue.
There are so many silent kills that are always after the fact. Where is the independent review of these irreversible decisions.

It’s Wishlist Wednesday y’all!
Buddy. Sammi. Coco. Kota. Cassidy. Billy The Kid. Boss. Ginger. Zulu. Jagger. And now, Truffle.
What do all of these dogs have in common?
Every single one of them was facing euthanasia at Austin Animal Center because of what the shelter deemed behavioral challenges. And every single one of them made it out alive because we said YES.
When a dog is facing euthanasia, their picture is shared, their story spreads, and people beg for someone to save them.
And when a rescue finally steps forward, everyone celebrates.
But then the world moves on to the next dog facing death.
What happens to the ones who were saved?
They’re still here. Still learning. Still healing. Still enjoying the beautiful, ordinary moments of a life they almost didn’t get to live.
And we’re still here, caring for them every single day.
Because saving a dog doesn’t end when they walk out of the shelter. That’s where the real work begins.
The veterinary care. The medications. The behavioral support. The food. The safe housing. The lifelong commitment to dogs who may never have anywhere else to go.
We didn’t just promise these dogs another day. We promised them a future.
But keeping that promise takes resources, and we cannot do it without your support.
This Wishlist Wednesday, we’re asking for monetary donations to help us continue caring for the lives we fought so hard to save.
Please remember the dogs whose pictures you shared. The dogs you prayed someone would save. The dogs whose lives mattered when their time was running out.
They still matter. They still need us. And we still need you.
If you can donate $5, $10, $25, or any amount, please do.
Their lives were worth saving. Their lives are worth sustaining.
Please don’t forget about them.

TRUFFLE UPDATE: HE IS SAFE!
We have some wonderful news to share!
When we were asked to step in and save Truffle, we knew we had to do everything in our power to give him a chance.
Behind the scenes, we have been working tirelessly to put together a safe, responsible plan for his future. There have been countless conversations, phone calls, and moving pieces, but we refused to give up on him.
And today, we are so incredibly happy to announce that Layla’s Heart Ranch and Rescue has officially committed to pulling Truffle from Austin Animal Services!
TRUFFLE’S LIFE HAS BEEN SAVED!
He is scheduled to be picked up this Friday, and we couldn’t be more excited for him to begin this next chapter of his life.
But now we need your help!
Rescuing Truffle is only the beginning of our commitment to him. We are responsible for ensuring he receives everything he needs moving forward, and we desperately need donations to help cover his care.
Donations have been incredibly slow, and we cannot do this work without your support.
If you can make a donation toward Truffle’s care, please, please consider doing so. Whether it’s $5, $10, $25, or more, every single dollar makes a difference.
We made a promise to Truffle that his life was worth fighting for. And we intend to keep that promise.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, and believed that Truffle deserved this chance.
Friday can’t come soon enough!
Please donate if you can, and help us give Truffle the future he deserves!

@NYCHealthCommr @nycHealthy exterminated Gideon.
This is how @NYCMayor @speakermenin @harveyforny @lynn4nyc want it.
TSNY has queried @NYCACC @NYCHealthCommr @nycHealthy re their shockingly cruel abuse of 3-yo Gideon, locked in a cage alone with minimal human/dog contact since October 7 with the approval of @NYCMayor @speakermenin @harveyforny @lynn4nyc.
