It will now be built in the United Arab Emirates, bringing $2.3 billion of foreign direct investment to the Middle East that could have gone to London. #PMQs, Deputy PM: "The definition of working people is the people the Tory party has failed for the last 14 years.". Under #LabourLies definition that's everyone in the county, that means if there are any tax rises in the October budget, #Labour has lied in its manifesto. The definition keeps changing as Labour can't agree who they are. If you have shares or savings, apparently you're not a working person.

Thousands of British jobs face being shipped overseas thanks to Rachel Thieves’ budget. Major recruiter boss James Reed warns companies are planning to move “tens of thousands” of roles to cheaper countries like India, thanks to a “triple whammy” of increased National Insurance, higher minimum wage, and stricter union rights alone set to cost businesses nearly £5 billion a year. The first female Chancellor has sent businesses running for the hills…
Meanwhile, Neil Carberry from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation confirmed large firms are eyeing offshoring, warning he’d “talked to many larger firms where the question has been about offshoring.” Deutsche Bank also warned City clients that the Budget could axe 100,000 jobs, through both layoffs and lost opportunities for new roles. Turns out the biggest tax-hiking budget in history doesn’t promote ‘growth’. In fairness, Reeves wouldn’t have picked up these economic lessons in Halifax’s complaints department.

Budget unlocks £10billion that can be borrowed for London infrastructure projects, Sadiq Khan confirms trib.al/XmHWut2
Oxford Street: Another failure by @SadiqKhan to listen to Londoners.
Hundreds of Critical Mass cyclists flooding Oxford Street in defiance of the new traffic ban expose the fundamental flaws in this poorly thought-out scheme.
Londoners deserve better than headline-grabbing announcements and policies imposed without properly listening to the people who live, work and travel in the capital.
Pedestrians need safe pavements. Cyclists need sensible routes. Businesses need customers and access. Residents need to be heard.
Instead, we're left with confusion, confrontation and a scheme that appears to have failed to consider everyone's needs.
@SadiqKhan must stop imposing policies from City Hall and start listening to Londoners.
London needs practical solutions, not political grandstanding.

The government’s grandest plane, an A321 jet, took off from Stansted at 6.05 a.m. this morning. Burnham wasn't on it. It flew 34 minutes to Manchester to collect the PM, then set off for the Commonwealth summit in Antigua. Guido estimates the detour cost around £20,000 of taxpayer cash. Avanti not good enough for him?
Flight tracking data shows the jet landed in Manchester at 6.39 a.m. and left again at 8.06 a.m., heading for a refuelling stop in Newfoundland before the Caribbean. The government eventually publishes what every trip on the plane costs. Starmer’s same-day trip to Paris on in April came to £39,756 at roughly £20,000 a leg. Stansted to Manchester is shorter than Paris, but every additional leg brings its own landing and handling fees. About £18,000-20,000’s worth according to Guido’s fag packet maths…
The whole jaunt, there and back, comes to about 21 hours of flying. Based on Starmer’s £121,239 trip to Yerevan in May and Yvette Cooper’s £148,700 trip to Washington in December, long-haul flying on the plane costs between £9,500 and £12,400 an hour. That puts Burnham's full trip at about £250,000.
Burnham took the same government jet from Glasgow to Manchester in July to open No10 North, despite a choice of trains. When Liz Truss used the same plane to fly to Australia, @AngelaRayner called it a “ridiculous waste of half a million pounds on a private jet trip”. Thoughts on this one, Ange?
No, @AndyBurnham, no.
# Why Can Italy Deport a Dangerous Preacher, But Britain Seems Unable to Do the Same?
The deportation of Pakistani religious preacher Ali Kashif from Italy has raised an important question for Britain: why does Italy appear willing to take decisive action to protect its public and uphold its laws, while the Labour Government under Keir Starmer so often appears reluctant to do the same?
Kashif, who had lived in Italy for six years and had been involved in leading prayers at Islamic centres in Brescia, came to public attention following a hidden-camera investigation broadcast on the Italian television programme Fuori dal Coro on 25 January 2026.
The investigation concerned comments attributed to him about the acceptability of marrying girls as young as nine. The remarks caused considerable public outrage, particularly because of the implications for the protection of children and the rights of young girls.
Following the broadcast, Brescia police assessed him as a potential danger to society. With no valid residence permit, he was subsequently expelled from Italy and escorted to Milan Malpensa Airport, where he was placed on a flight to Islamabad in early April 2026.
The case raises serious questions about how governments respond when individuals living in their countries are considered a potential threat to public safety or appear to advocate practices fundamentally opposed to the protection of children.
So why can't Britain do the same?
The truth is that Britain already has deportation powers. Foreign nationals who have no legal right to remain, or whose presence is considered contrary to the public good, can be removed under existing immigration law.
Yet the British public increasingly feels that immigration enforcement is too slow, too complicated and too often ineffective.
Of course, Britain must respect the law and individual human rights. But those safeguards should not become an excuse for failing to protect the public.
This is not about targeting people because of their nationality or religion. It is about applying one standard of law to everyone.
No religious belief, cultural tradition or personal ideology should place anyone above the law. The protection of children, women's rights and public safety must always come first.
Italy has demonstrated that its authorities are prepared to take action when they believe someone presents a danger and the legal grounds for removal exist.
The Labour Government needs to explain why Britain cannot demonstrate the same determination.
The British public deserves a government that puts public safety, the protection of children and the enforcement of immigration law first.
If someone has no legal right to remain in this country, or presents a properly evidenced danger to society, the Government should have the courage to use the lawful powers available to remove them.
One country, one law, one standard. Why should Britain expect anything less?

A former nursery manager who r*ped a three-year-old boy and s*xually abused a 12-year-old schoolgirl has been recently spotted in Bath on several occasions.
In 2015, Mark Maclennan was sentenced to eight years. He spent six in prison before being released in 2021
The boy, who was three, was raped at a nursery in the Lochaber area.
He sexually abused the girl at drama rehearsals held in Stirling and Dunfermline and at her home in Dunblane when she was aged between 12 and 15.
He was also found guilty of having thousands of images of child sexual abuse on the computer he brought into the nursery to help the children and more were found on the laptop at his then home in Stirling.
Maclennan was cleared of a further charge of sexually abusing a girl at the nursery when she was aged between four and five. The jury found that charge against him not proven.

Yesterday I married the love of my life .
@RestoreBritain members and branch leaders were in attendance and I was also very fortunate to have a video message from @RupertLowe10 I played during my speech thanking my wife for supporting me with all the work I do for the party . 🇬🇧
More Restorers out on the streets.
Patriots from the new Enfield & Haringey Restore Britain branch were out today assisting @restoreeastldn's Barking & Dagenham action day. They were leafleting and engaging with members of the local public. Loads of positive interactions with several new members already signed up.
