It’s funny, if you really wanted to bring down prices and put money back in every single person’s pockets is cut fuel duty it drives the prices of nearly everything.

Awful
🙄 The “King of the North” apparently had a really comfortable setup down south…
He reportedly claimed £16,644 in taxpayer funded expenses linked to buying and renovating his London flat, including stamp duty, legal fees and a new kitchen.
And according to reports the way the Dolphin Square payout was put through his parliamentary allowance also meant he avoided an estimated £6,665 capital gains tax bill.
Then after the expenses rules changed, he kept the flat, rented it out, while reportedly claiming around £17,000 a year from taxpayers to rent another London property nearby.
Imagine campaigning for rent freezes while collecting rent on a London flat and having taxpayers cover another one nearby. You genuinely couldn’t write the irony.

Their OWN Code says motorists need an "appropriate" consideration period including time to understand & comply with payment requirements.

Well after today’s announcement from the Bank of England, there is something very, very, very wrong in the system... 😡
So … let me get this straight:
* British Gas made a profit of £1.3bn between January & June
* BP announced profits of £6.95 billion between April and June alone
* Shell has profited by £9.4bn in a year
The MEN at the top:
* John Pettigrew, boss of National Grid received £6.5m bonus on top of his salary
* Chris O’Shea, chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica was paid almost £2m last year in salary and benefits
* Centrica's non-executive directors were paid almost £1m
* Scottish Power's CEO Keith Anderson is on £1.15m.
* E.On boss Michael Lewis is on £1m
* EDF's Simone Rossi is also on £1m
* And their top execs enjoyed a share of £4.65m
* Peter Simpson of Anglian Water earned a £1.3m pay package
* Welsh Water bosses awarded themselves bonuses of over £930,000
* Severn Trent bosses awarded themselves bonuses of £5.56m
* Thames Water's Sarah Bentley, received a £727,000 bonus on top of her £2m annual salary
Meanwhile there are...
* People who haven't had breakfast and/or lunch TODAY, because they can't afford it.
* People using FoodBanks because food is becoming more of a luxury than a necessity.
* Children celebrating a birthday without presents.
* Parents worrying about new school uniforms - and some schools enforcing rules which are not cost-effective.
* People who can't get to work because they can't afford to put petrol in their cars/pay for public transport anymore.
* People who are working so much they're making themselves ill, and they STILL CAN'T AFFORD to pay their bills.
* People who have been given fines by these same energy/water companies because they couldn't afford to pay their bills in the first place - increasing their debt.
* Customers being told to do STAR JUMPS TO KEEP WARM for crying out loud!
* Hose pipe bans when gallons of water leak away everyday.
* Elderly people NOT DRINKING because they're worried about running out of water!!!
All this and energy prices are set to rise up to 75% in October...
THIS IS MADNESS!.. I'm all for supporting profits … I'm not for supporting greed at the cost of lives of others.
Something needs to change.
Why is customers' money being used to make life more comfortable for those who are making life more intolerable for the rest of us?
I actually don't understand how the energy companies are allowed to get away with this and why the government aren't stopping them instead of handing out money.....
COPIED AND PASTED FROM OTHERS :
PLEASE KEEP IT GOING SO MORE AND MORE GET TO SEE IT .
People will read that and then with a straight face still try tell you that illegal immigrants and ethnic minorities and Muslims are the problem. Mental.

A lot of Brits staycation because either moneys tight or they wish to support the uk tourist & hospitality industry. Stop bloody taxing everything @UKLabour you’re like the bloody sheriff of Nottingham. In a minute you’ll be taxing air or windows.

Burnham wants to tax your weekend away.
Hotels. B&Bs. Holiday lets.
English mayors would get the power to add a charge.
With no national cap.
And “tourist” includes you.
British families taking a break.
People staying overnight for work.
Hospitality is already being hammered by rates, energy bills and employment costs.
So Labour’s answer is another bill for people just trying to get away.
UKHospitality warns a 5% levy could cost 33,000 jobs.
They call it devolution.
It’s a tax raid on a weekend away.
A family’s holiday budget doesn’t magically grow because a mayor wants a slice.
That’s money they could have spent in the local pub.
The restaurant.
The seaside attraction.
You don’t revive Britain’s tourist towns by making it more expensive to visit them.

Please help me keep my TD5 Defender on the road but this will be relevant to a lot of older cars!! ‼️IMPORTANT‼️ *Please Share.*
So the government is going to try and effectively remove old vehicles from the road.
They've created a sneaky consultation on this huge change with an end date of only the 6th of September.
They want to have a yearly emissions check on every car and motorcycle on the road AS WELL as your mot.
If you pass the mot but then go to your emissions check, if the vehicle doesn't emit exactly the same emissions as when it was built the car will be banned from any use on the road even if it passed its mot emissions.
‼️ This will effectively destroy cars for those of us who love older cars, as well as those who simply can’t afford a newer car. Also car tuning and modifications will be forced to stop you been able to drive your car.‼️
This is targeting all vehicle, cars, motorbikes, trikes, kit cars etc.
So far they are just targeting cars after 2001 but they want to use it on every vehicle on the road targeting mot & tax exempt (historic) vehicles.
They've purposely not given this consultation much time, so please go to the bottom of this page, click this link: smartsurvey.co.uk/s/x-QHYJB7… and click *DISAGREE* and tell them you do not want any of this from the government and share the consultation for others to do the same.
Only way to stop this would be to get the results of this consultation to be a resounding NO (DISAGREE)!
