Patrick Stewart. Turned up so early and so unobtrusively to be a star in the reasonably priced car, we mistook him for a delivery driver and asked him to go round the back. Took his hat off and said, “But I’m the captain of the Enterprise”. Fucking nice guy.

Under the cover of night and in the absence of the President of the Republic of Poland from the country, the police have forcibly taken control of the empty Constitutional Tribunal building. The police claim that activities posing a threat to health and life were allegedly taking place inside the vacant building over the weekend. Despite this, the Tribunal’s own security personnel, the Vice-President of the Tribunal, and its director are being denied entry. In violation of the law, the police officers have obscured the identification numbers and names on their uniforms—a practice typically employed when an officer knows they are breaking the law and wishes to avoid being identified. President Karol Nawrocki has ordered the presidential aircraft, which was en route to Senegal, to turn back; he is now returning to Poland. Previously, the President had warned Prime Minister Donald Tusk that any attempt to forcibly enter the Constitutional Tribunal would be met with a firm response. Article 128 of the Polish Penal Code stipulates that anyone who, with the intent to remove a constitutional body of the Republic of Poland by force, engages in activities directly aimed at achieving this objective, is subject to a prison sentence of up to 20 years. Two years ago, the President of the Constitutional Tribunal filed a notification with the prosecutor's office, alleging that the government—under the direction of Prime Minister Donald Tusk—had committed the crime of a coup d'état. The process of authoritarian consolidation in Poland continues. The assault on the Constitutional Tribunal and the President represents the final stages of a complete, undemocratic seizure of power. Once again in its history, Poland is fighting against totalitarianism.

The progressive, tolerant, accepting EU global communists are attempting a coup in Poland. Lol

In England, if you earn £2,000 a month after tax with this budget: - No Netflix. - £75 a week on food. - No eating out. - Renting a one or two-bedroom flat. - No holidays. Your monthly outgoings: - £900 rent - £250 council tax and gas/electricity. - £325 food. - £50 household items and clothes. - £200 car payments, insurance and MOT. - £200 fuel. - £50 phone and internet. That’s £1,975 gone. You’re saving just £25 a month. It's over for UK. The cost of living is getting out of hand

WTF? A Prime Minister who has never run a business in his life demands answers because a private business fails? … let me help you, Andy & co. A retail chain needs to stay in fashion, needs to go with the flow! … But you and successive governments don’t like their “tat” products (mostly sourced off shore to sell them at £1!!! That the whole point right?) anyway… for free (without a taxpayer funded £MULTIMILLION enquiry I’ll tell you the problems… (you’re welcome) ▪️massively increased regulations and compliance costs. ▪️cheap tat sourced from abroad, with rising shipping and transport costs. ▪️Hit by increased minimum wages and employer National Insurance. ▪️Hit by rising rents and business rates. ▪️Hit by soaring energy bills and net zero costs. ▪️Hit by higher interest rates. ▪️Hit by consumers with less disposable income. ▪️Hit by the soaring cost of borrowing to buy stock months in advance. ▪️Hit by higher insurance premiums. ▪️Hit by shoplifting, organised theft and security costs. ▪️Hit by packaging taxes, recycling regulations and environmental compliance costs.( which you just throw into general taxation, non of it changes the weather) ▪️Hit by higher fuel, warehousing and distribution costs. ▪️Hit by increased employment costs, pensions and statutory obligations. ▪️Hit by competition from overseas online retailers operating with very different overheads.( duty free … for foreign businesses oops) ▪️And hit by the impossibility of passing those costs onto customers, who shop at Poundland precisely because they need cheap stuff! … which isn’t cheap anymore (see above) Every single time you add something on … so do they! And the idiot, deluded politicians who have made Britain more and more expensive and difficult to do business in, are demanding to know why businesses are struggling? You are all moronic. My work here is done 🤡

Utter miss-governance. The clowns are running the circus.
The international suicide pact known as Net Zero has plunged us into territory not seen since the 1960s. Electricity generated per person in the UK is now lower than it was in 1968.😳

If there’s a stupid decision to be made you can rely on @UKLabour making it. We already ha e cheap beans.
British baked beans are under threat after Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s decision to cut tariffs on more than 100 food products including finished baked beans. Producers warn cheap imports could undermine UK factories that employ thousands of workers. The Food and Drink Federation said the move will have no meaningful impact on consumer prices but will undermine British factories. The government claims the cuts will save households up to £21 a year on food. Wow a whole £21 quid...

The problem is governments come and go those in the treasury don’t. Governments need to get a back bone and do what needs to be done and ignore unelected civil servants.
Andy Burnham says the budget was "not what he wanted" Yeah we didn't want your shit budget either.. xitter.gq/itvnews/status/2116047…

That has to be a joke right? Should the government rescue poundland…
The shop workers’ union Usdaw has urged Poundland’s owners to reconsider a decision to prepare the budget chain for administration, putting up to 12,000 jobs at risk. Should the government rescue Poundland?

There were five slave trades. You were taught about only one. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 One. The Atlantic. Twelve million Africans shipped to the Americas. Britain banned it in 1807, then hunted it for sixty years. Two. The Barbary trade. A million Europeans taken to North Africa. Britain bombarded Algiers in 1816. Three. The Saharan trade. A thousand years of caravans north across the desert. Britain had its northern end banned. Tripoli, 1857. Four. The East African trade. Twenty thousand people a year through one customs house. Britain forced the market shut. 5 June 1873. Five. The Ottoman trade. Raiders sold Eastern Europeans south for three hundred years. Britain made the Sultan ban it in 1854. It cost sixty years and two thousand sailors. Nobody else fought all five. 🙏🇬🇧 It isn't over. Mauritania only made it a crime in 2007. Fifty million people are in slavery today. Someone has to remember who started the fight. ⚓🇬🇧💪

Poundland has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, putting around 12,000 jobs and the future of its roughly 600 stores across the UK and Ireland at risk. The discount retailer, owned by the US investment firm Gordon Brothers, is seeking court protection that would give it about 10 working days of breathing space from creditors while it looks for a rescue deal or other solution. The filing is not full administration yet, but it is a formal step that typically precedes the appointment of administrators with AlixPartners widely reported as the firm lined up to handle the process if it proceeds. The move follows Gordon Brothers’ rejection of a solvent takeover offer from Northern Ireland’s Martin Property Group a bid that had the backing of Poundland’s management, including managing director Barry Williams. Williams told staff in a memo that the situation was “unexpected, unwanted and wholly avoidable.” The disagreement centres in large part on a roughly £30 million shareholder loan that Gordon Brothers inherited when it bought the chain for a nominal £1 from Pepco in June 2025; the Martin Property Group offer is understood to have fallen short of what the owners were seeking to recover. Three independent directors recently appointed to help oversee a sale process are reported to have resigned amid the dispute. Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds has written to Gordon Brothers seeking clarity on the situation. Rival retailers including Poundstretcher, The Range, B&M and others are said to be interested in acquiring some of the stores or parts of the business, which could preserve some jobs, though a full break-up remains a real possibility. The uncertainty comes just weeks before Christmas and has raised concerns among unions such as Usdaw about potential redundancies.

Andrew Neil on the freeze in tax thresholds: “It’s the biggest tax rise in British history and politicians love it because they think we won’t notice.” We now have the highest tax burden in history and yet Labour are borrowing more than ever. We have a sclerotic EU-style high cost, high-tax, high-regulation economy. The exact opposite of what need. Another lost decade of stagnation is in prospect. @afneil

Fear not, I’ve formulated a recipe for our current situation. Sticky Orange Marmalade & Gherkin Glazed Chicken (serves 4) This balances the sweet-bitter citrus of marmalade with the sharp, crunchy tang of gherkins (pickled cucumbers). The gherkins add texture and cut through the richness so it doesn’t feel one-note sweet. Ingredients • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs • 4–5 tbsp orange marmalade • 4–5 medium gherkins, finely chopped (plus a splash of their pickle liquid) • 1 tbsp Dijon or wholegrain mustard • 1 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce • 1–2 garlic cloves, minced • 1 tsp olive oil • Salt and black pepper • Optional: a few sprigs of thyme or a pinch of chilli flakes
