Note that this Anglican Church data confirms the trend @DHRoseberry earlier identified in his @AnglicanCompass "Suddenly Surging" series. Yes, Anglicanism remains a small slice of the North American religious pie. It is, however, undeniably growing. livingchurch.org/news/acna-s…

My first article for Anglican Compass was, of course, on Christ's death and descent into Hades. Christ is willing to be numbered among us in death that we might be numbered with him in life.
"The one who created and sustains all things willingly submitted himself to the common death of man. The dark reality that we will all face, the separation of soul and body, is one that our Savior has already embraced and overcome."

"Throughout the course of his reflections, Clemente observes more than once that the Crucifixion is a seminal narrative, 'the true story that all our other best stories point to.' We would do well to remember this, in Lent and out of it.."

I have a few BCPs: a few 1662s and a 1979 TEC BCP.
Despite being Church of Ireland, I mostly use the Daily Office booklet by @AnglicanCompass. Highly recommend to those who weren’t raised Anglican (like me) and who want to learn the routine of daily prayer.

Thank you! I remember hearing that song often when I was a child but I didn't know any thing but the first line. It's wonderful to understand the whole story now.
