Building collapse in Eastleigh Nairobi. Preliminary assessment indicates people could be trapped under the rubble. @KenyaRedCross staff and volunteers on sight to support search and rescue effort. We are setting up information tents to register any information on missing people suspected to have been in the vicinity of the building. We request the public to stay off from the site to decongest traffic for easier movement.

A building has collapsed along Yusuf Haji Avenue, next to Day to Day Supermarket on 9th Street, Eastleigh. Kenya Red Cross response teams are en route to the scene. We urge the public to keep clear of the area to allow emergency teams to work safely.

I don't even know what to say. Every time I go to Eastleigh, it saddens me, especially because I remember how it used to be. I grew up there. The beautiful greenery is gone, replaced by badly built apartments at risk of collapse. Watching this gave me goosebumps.

Almost 20 trees were murdered in Lavington’s former Pallet Restaurant to make way for a petroleum station while their are 2 other petrol stations 50 meters apart on the opposite side of the roads @NemaKenya sleeping on the job.
