The countries equity markets have lost 3.5 trillion and the primary index has lost 20% of its value since June.
Consumption has collapsed in the country and corporate earnings are down, causing the stock crash.

At least 47 Orthodox Christians were killed in a late-night attack in Shirka Woreda, in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region, Borkena news reports. Armed groups surrounded farming families in their homes around 10:00 PM, blocked the exits, opened fire and set the houses on fire. Local sources told Borkena the attackers included local armed groups and others from the neighboring Bale Zone. Residents asked police to step in, but the outlet reports that officers did not act, saying they had no official orders. Families are now burying their dead among the ashes of their homes. Let us pray for an end to the persecution of Christians in Ethiopia.

Since Monday, guards at every gate of Kadena Air Base on Okinawa have been turning away anything built by BYD. Private cars, contractor vans, taxis, delivery trucks. No exceptions.
The base calls the Chinese cars an unacceptable risk to its people and its mission. Think about what a BYD Sealion 7, sold in Japan, does on its own: cameras around the body stream a live 360-degree view of everything nearby. Now park it beside a flight line where F-22s and RC-135 spy planes operate. The car is the sensor.
In June the Pentagon put BYD on its list of 188 Chinese military companies, a label BYD rejects.
What I keep coming back to is that Tokyo has been building the same wall all year. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told parliament last November that a Chinese attack on Taiwan could be a survival-threatening situation for Japan. Beijing retaliated in January by banning dual-use exports to Japan's military. Tokyo called it absolutely unacceptable and refused to retract a word. In April it moved to restrict local-government tech purchases to state-certified products, which in practice shuts out Chinese vendors. Last week Nikkei reported a new security certification for data centers and cloud services, widely read as aimed at Chinese providers.
Beijing keeps trying to punish Japan for saying out loud what Taiwan means to its survival, and Japan keeps answering by closing doors.
BYD has been opening more showrooms in rural Japan, where trains and buses are thin. As of this week, none of those cars gets past Kadena's gates.

• Retaliation playbook: Rare-earth bans on Japan (2010), Lithuania (2023), and threats to the U.S. (2025)
Europe is sleepwalking into dependence while naively hoping Beijing will help end the Russia-Ukraine war (it’s actually propping up Moscow).
Wake up, Europe.
Stop undermining the existing order. Distance from the CCP now. Diversify aggressively to India, Southeast Asia, the Global South, and trusted allies. Enforce anti-dumping measures, secure critical raw materials, and protect your sovereignty, jobs, and future.
Your competitiveness depends on strategic discipline — not a “doomed-to-collapse” bridge with Beijing.

The official X account of the Republic of Somaliland is confirming Omar's alleged crimes to back up its request for extradition.
It said that Ilhan Omar legally married her own brother, then used a different name in the U.S. to hide her father’s role as a colonel under Siad Barre’s genocidal regime in Somalia.
It confirms that Omar’s original last name is Elmi, that her father Nur Said Elmi (also known as Nur Omar) used multiple names, and that part of the family entered the United States under the name Omar.
It says the aliases hid Nur Said’s identity and alleged war crimes.
When Omar was asked whether she married her brother, she answered: “Not to my knowledge.”
