One of the highlight cars at Shelsley Walsh in recent seasons has been the GWR Raptor V8 2 litre of Johnathen Varley that's got two Yamaha R1 5-valve cylinder heads on a common crank case.

In 1989, Williams tested Renault's 3.5-liter naturally aspirated RS1
V10, producing around 650 bhp at 12,500 RPM.
The 67-degree V10 helped push the FW12C toward incredible speeds, with footage claiming over 236 mph.

Talbot Tuesday October 1981 and 45 years ago the Horizon was properly a Talbot now and had to compete with the new Astra and Escort but was still an efficient car - "the new Talbot Horizon 1.5 GL gives you an incredible 51.4 mpg* That's better than the much smaller Metro 1.3"

Remembering Tim Wardrop, who died aged 62 #OTD in 2012.
Wardrop worked on the ATS D4 in 1980–81. Previously a mechanic with Williams, McLaren & Walter Wolf in the late 1970s, he later became a highly respected race engineer in IndyCar, most famously with Arie Luyendyk.
ALT Tim Wardrop (with Arie Luyendyk in his IndyCar days). Worked on the ATS D4 in F1 during 1980–81. Passed away on this day in 2012.
