The First Attempt: A small cup/container of soapy water was thrown onto the screen, which worked reasonably well.  On the next lap, a mechanic threw an entire bucket of water as the car sped past pit lane at around 150–200 km/h.  The high-speed impact of 10 kg of water hit the windscreen, immediately smashing and shattering the glass. 🇧🇷 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix Car 5 🇪🇸 Fernando Alonso - Ferrari F2012 V8 Qualifying - 8th Race - 🥈 The 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix (held on November 25, 2012, at Interlagos) is widely regarded as one of the most chaotic, dramatic, and iconic season finales in Formula 1 history.  Heading into the race, Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) held a 13-point lead in the Drivers' Championship over Fernando Alonso (Ferrari).  Vettel's First-Lap Disaster: Starting 4th, Vettel got a poor launch and collided with Bruno Senna at Turn 4 on Lap 1. Spun around and left with heavy bodywork damage, he dropped to last place (22nd), putting Alonso in prime position to snatch the title.  Weather & Strategy: Interlagos experienced constantly changing rain conditions throughout the 71-lap race. Drivers cycled between slicks, intermediate tires, and full wets, causing non-stop overtakes, spins, and pit strategy gambles.  Hülkenberg’s Lead & Hamilton Collision: Nico Hülkenberg (Force India) drove a heroic race in the wet, leading for a large portion of the grand prix. However, while battling Lewis Hamilton for the lead on Lap 54, they made contact.
