LaunchBox is now almost a Gaming subOS. I would like to see Unbroken Software version of what Quiver Launcher is doing for ports, recomps and decomps.
🚀 LaunchBox for Windows 14.1 is here! 🕹️ Trackball & Spinner Support in Big Box 🏆 MAME highscore leaderboards expanded to nearly 1,000 more games ⚙️ Configure MAME & RetroArch settings ⚡ Performance improvements & fixes! 🎬 Check out the release video youtu.be/QZz1NHhXYWQ

Complete bullshit. Main reason why EGS has not gained more share is because it has refused to match all of Steam features & even has two different stores. One for mobile and one for PC. This "insight" is as baffling as Amazon Gaming somehow thinking it ever competed with Steam.
A former Epic Games dev says Steam has become almost impossible to compete with, even if someone builds a better launcher. Kiaran Ritchie argues that developers aren’t really paying Valve’s 30% cut for its services, they’re paying for access to Steam’s huge player base. He believes most Steam users simply have no reason to move to another store, even if it offers a better experience. “They played capitalism so well they broke it.” Ritchie says that Steam has become so dominant that developers can’t afford to ignore it, leaving them with no choice but to accept the 30% cut.

No one has ever competed with Steam 1 to 1 in terms of apps, platform and community. Only half way on the store part. And it all comes out to not being willing to do it. Even Microsoft refused to do it. But apparently will do it starting 2028. Amazon has 5 loosely linked things.

Now, THAT is a good seasonal Ad. Halloween CyberTaxi just driving around with Skeleton Passengers is such an effective idea.

Mirror's Edge Mobile Remastered for Android (W10+ via AP) Someone did a remastered port of the ipad version of Mirror's Edge Mobile which was released for iOS & Windows Phone a long time ago. Played the Windows Phone version when back when and it was good. This version is great.

Nameless Cat is great indie game that should have been released everywhere and not just Mobile. At least it can be played via APK app players on Windows too. New game is called FOR. Looks good, but will release until next year. Odd it has taken so long, but it a two guys dev team
Prepare yourself for our new Metroidvania game #gamedev #indiegame

To me the wildest thing about seeing this stuff is how there is not even a proper fully featured dumper out yet and there is already this kind of footage floating around.
yea so turns out that switch 2 emulator shit was NOT fake 😭😭😭

I have beaten this horse to death on how bad Don't Nod got in the past few years. But the biggest blow to it was the extreme failure of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage as it was the studio most expensive game so far. Is why Tencent cut them off. Aphelion was just the last straw.
Don’t Nod, the studio behind the original Life is Strange, is collapsing. The French developer is facing a near-total layoff, up to 85 jobs, which would leave its French teams with only a small number of employees. The studio has struggled with a string of underperforming releases, the most recently the sci-fi adventure Aphelion. Don’t Nod has warned that it may not have enough funding to continue operating beyond January 31, 2027, and has entered a French “safeguard” procedure to restructure its finances.

It has to be lineal if you want it to be like James Bond. But it could be made semi-open world if you make it like 24. Or it can be fully Open World if you make it like The Americans. Just you would be the one chasing for sleepers. This only tells Dan Houser wanted it like Bond.
Rockstar tried making an open-world spy game called Agent, but the project never came together. Dan Houser says Rockstar had “two or three different teams” working on it, but they couldn’t figure out how to make the concept work. “We tried with two or three different teams to make an open-world spy game and could not get it right, so it never came out.” The biggest problem was the genre itself. Spy stories are built around urgency and constantly moving between distant locations, while open-world games encourage players to slow down and explore. “The momentum of a spy story pushes you forward in time, whereas you want games to be a bit more spread-out.” After trying several approaches, Rockstar eventually decided it was a game they weren’t going to figure out. “Other people can try, but I personally think it’s hard.”

To be specific. Not impossible to make a Bond style game open world & multi path. Would just be stupidly expensive and highly unlikely to make a profit. Take latest bond game, give it as many locations as the latest hitman trilogy, but have each location be 10x bigger & complex.

Good Ad, but why would I return to Firefox given how censorious and biased it is? Brave would not exist if that was not true. Only thing it has that Brave doesn't have is extensions on mobile. That is it. And @brave said to me that is coming soon.
How is the internet less private than in 2006, when the whole family shared one computer? Back then, the internet was weird, personal, and all of ours. So, we got your favorite meme legends back together to say it louder: What happened to the internet? 1/3

Quantum Break (2016) Finally played it and 100% it. Really good in the context of the year it came out. Quite daring with the bundling of a show within game and having it be a two paths story. Skeleton of the first Control game can be felt here. An 8 for me. Is just too limited

Given I 100% it both in game and achievements, this means I fully played it and watched the show within twice. And you can see how limited in Budget Quantum Break is out of need to focus the story in a way that allow the bundled show to be a worthwhile addition to it.

When it comes to games with branched narratives and a lot of fully acted cutscenes done seamlessly. Quantum Break feels like a game that sits well between David Cage's Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human while still being a Remedy game. Without it, there is no Control.

Quiver Launcher 3.5.1 + Quiverlauncher.com QL is the way to keep up & manage Recomps,Decomps + some ports in Windows, Linux and Android. With v3.5.1 is now good and anyone can also provide feedback to it with the official site for it. This week Android got to 100 titles.

Previously I thought Windows would get to 1000 ported titles by year end in general. Now it might get there just on Quiver Launcher out of 1500+ titles that will be floating around. Android should get to 175 on QL out of 350+ titles floating around. And that is just from 2026.

In 2027, I previously thought about 3000-5000 titles for Windows being available. Now I think 5000, with 10,000 not being impossible. For Android, I thought maybe 1000. I now think that is the minimum and 3000 would not be impossible to happen. That is how crazy porting has got.

Netflix offer was crazy low for a deal that would basically lock Xbox to Netflix for close to a decade. Netflix spends 1 billion a year on just making actual filler programming no one watches. Xbox counter offer was also low. $1B was better. 700M would have been just OK.
Netflix offered Xbox $500 million for the exclusive rights to adapt its IP into movies and TV shows, Puck News reports Xbox countered with $800 million, which Netflix rejected

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners S2 Great & different from S1. Truly a deep cut on the deliberate choices and nods made by Bartosz Sztybor. C'mon, naming the Neo-Gonzo Tween Short Maker Roman Carax? And having the anime open with The Cure's 10:15 Saturday Night? Gen X homage by a Milli.

Ugh, might do need to pay for basic. Sometimes it does seems I am vague posting even if it is not my intention.
